We recently connected with Lindsey Wilson and have shared our conversation below.
Lindsey , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
To be honest, I didn’t set out looking for a business or a purpose. It really started with me just trying to take care of myself. I was struggling with digestive issues and kept hitting walls – juice cleanses didn’t work for me, most broths had ingredients that upset my gut, and nothing felt sustainable.
So I started experimenting in my own kitchen, making broths and shakes that were actually nourishing and aligned with gut-healing protocols. At first it was just self-care – giving my body a break and creating food that helped me feel good.
But what surprised me was how naturally it grew into something bigger. Friends started asking for the recipes, then for the products themselves. That’s when I realized I wasn’t just helping myself – I was meeting a real need for others, too.
My ‘purpose’ wasn’t some lightning bolt moment – it came through the act of caring for myself consistently and realizing that this way of living and nourishing could change lives beyond my own. OWL was born from that, and it continues to fuel me every day.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My story really begins with my own healing journey. I struggled for years with digestive issues, and nothing on the market supported my gut – bone broths were full of garlic and onions, juice cleanses left me depleted, and the wellness world seemed more focused on marketing than real healing. Out of necessity, I started experimenting in my Venice Beach kitchen, creating broths and shakes that were simple, nourishing, and aligned with gut-healing protocols.
That’s how OWL Venice was born. Today, nearly ten years later, we’re proud to offer the OWL Reset – a gut-healing program that combines our broth elixirs and plant-based shakes with approved foods and free coaching support. What makes it so special is that it’s not about restriction or punishment; it’s about nourishment, rhythm, and trusting the body’s natural ability to heal.
Professionally, I’m the Founder and Chief Brand Officer of OWL Venice, and my focus is on storytelling, product development, and community. What excites me most is seeing how people’s lives change after the Reset – when their digestion improves, their energy lifts, and they finally feel supported in their healing journey.
What I’d love people to know about OWL is that we’re not another fad cleanse. We’re a brand rooted in authenticity, care, and education. Every Reset includes access to a certified health coach, because we believe healing is personal and no two journeys look the same.
Looking ahead, we’re refining our focus to better serve our community. We recently closed our Venice storefront to dedicate more energy to direct-to-consumer and delivery services in LA/OC, while continuing to ship nationwide. We’re also working on exciting subscription offerings and seasonal campaigns that make staying consistent easier for our customers.
At the heart of it, OWL is about more than products – it’s about helping people feel at home in their bodies again, and that will always be our north star.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. Resilience & Adaptability
Building OWL from scratch meant facing countless obstacles – from carrying over a million dollars in personal debt to weathering industry shifts and supply chain challenges. Resilience was essential. I learned to adapt quickly, pivot when needed, and keep moving forward even when things felt impossible.
Advice: For anyone starting out, don’t be afraid of failure or change. Challenges are invitations to get creative. Build resilience like a muscle – one step, one decision, one obstacle at a time.
2. Storytelling & Connection
From the beginning, OWL grew not because of flashy marketing, but because people connected with my story. Sharing openly about my gut health struggles, and showing up authentically, built trust and community.
Advice: Invest in learning how to tell your story clearly and consistently. People connect with people, not just products or services. Practice being real and vulnerable, because that’s what creates impact.
3. Commitment to Learning
I didn’t have a background in CPG, nutrition, or e-commerce when I started. Everything I know, I learned along the way – through research, mentors, trial and error, and listening to my customers.
Advice: Stay curious. Don’t wait until you “know everything” to begin. The most successful founders and creators are lifelong learners. Ask questions, seek feedback, and treat every step as part of your education.
My journey wasn’t about having all the right skills from day one – it was about resilience, connection, and a willingness to learn as I went. If you have those three qualities, you can grow into anything.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
One of the most impactful things my parents did was stick together – both in their relationship and in the way they approached life. They’ve been together for decades, always working side by side on different projects, growing and creating together.
What stood out most to me wasn’t just their commitment to each other, but the way they lived with honesty and integrity. They always did what they said they would do. Watching that consistency and work ethic, day after day, shaped me deeply.
It taught me that success isn’t about shortcuts or appearances – it’s about showing up, following through, and building something meaningful with the people you love. That’s a lesson I carry into everything I do as a founder, a leader, and a mom.
