Meet Lisa Duke

We were lucky to catch up with Lisa Duke recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
While I don’t think everyone feels confident all the time, I definitely have developed a lot of confidence through learning how to identify and shift limiting beliefs. I believe this skill is critical for success, and that’s why I spend a good bit of time with my clients teaching how them how to do this.

You may have heard the old saying, “whether you believe you can or believe you can’t, you are right.” Based on what happens to us in childhood, we develop our own subconscious understanding of who we are. Then those thoughts and feelings we have about ourselves become the operating system by which we live our lives.

The good news is that these programs can be rewritten. When we identify what we want, we can then tune in to the mental chatter telling us we can’t have it. We can then shift those beliefs.

EFT tapping is an easy-to-learn approach to changing those beliefs. By calming the nervous system and the amygdala as we discuss the problem, we are able to release the emotional charge that makes that thought feel true. Then the belief is easy to change.

Once we learn to make the subconscious conscious and shift it, we start to feel better. By learning to feel those feelings, we no longer need things like overeating to make us feel better. Weight loss becomes easy and natural, especially when we lower stress as well.

When we learn how to remove the limiting beliefs and negative feelings, we have more success, which builds our confidence and self-esteem.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m a mindset weight coach for women over 40, which means I help them identify and change the thoughts and feelings that are stopping them from making healthy food and movement decisions. We work together to stop the self-sabotage and lower their stress.

The most exciting aspect of this for me as that once they learn how to do this, the approach is applicable to every other area of their lives. They start to improve their relationships, both personally and professionally, and they start to like themselves a whole lot more.

That example in and of itself will help to shift things for the next generation.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three skills that have been most impactful in my journey have been:

1. The ability to identify and change limiting beliefs.
2. The ability to feel my feelings, rather than overspending, over drinking, or over eating to get away from them.
3. Increasing my intuitive gifts, so that I can help clients understand and change the memories that are blocking them.

All of these skills were developed as a result of training and practice.

My advice for someone early in their journey is to be willing to invest money in learning how to manage your mind. Your brain will give you more ROI than anything else.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I’d love to collaborate with other YouTubers, especially those with around 1,000 subscribers and a primarily female audience in the health, wellness, fitness, mindset, and spirituality spaces.
