Meet Lisa Sizow

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lisa Sizow. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Lisa, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I get my work ethic from being an only child to immigrant parents who became entrepreneurs in their early 20s. Watching them work tirelessly to build a life and a business from the ground up taught me the value of hard work, resilience, and dedication. Their journey inspired me to approach everything I do with the same drive and determination.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am the owner of Lusso by Lisa, a boutique that specializes in curated luxury items with a focus on timeless fashion and unique vintage finds. My passion lies in connecting people with pieces that bring them joy and elevate their style. In addition to my boutique, I am a landlord and business consultant, helping others strategize and grow their ventures. I thrive on the challenge of exploring new business opportunities and expanding my portfolio.

What excites me most about my work is the opportunity to blend creativity with strategy. Whether I’m sourcing exclusive items for my boutique, providing guidance to entrepreneurs, or managing my real estate ventures, I’m driven by a commitment to quality, authenticity, and innovation.

Currently, I’m focused on expanding the Lusso by Lisa brand, including introducing educational content about luxury fashion through social media. I’m also exploring ways to collaborate with other small business owners and entrepreneurs.

I believe in creating meaningful connections through my work and am always looking forward to what’s next—whether it’s a new product, service, or business endeavor. Thank you for taking the time to learn about my journey!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey are:

1. Resilience – Building multiple businesses and managing different ventures comes with challenges. Resilience has allowed me to push through setbacks, learn from failures, and adapt to changes. My advice to others is to embrace obstacles as opportunities for growth and to keep moving forward, even when the path gets difficult.

2. Resourcefulness – Being able to think creatively and problem-solve has been invaluable. Whether it’s finding new inventory for my boutique, identifying investment opportunities, or helping a client grow their business, resourcefulness has made all the difference. For those starting out, I recommend honing this skill by seeking solutions in unexpected places and not being afraid to experiment.

3. Relationship Building – Success is never a solo journey. Building meaningful relationships—with customers, clients, and collaborators—has been crucial in my growth. My advice is to prioritize genuine connections, actively listen, and always bring value to the table. Strong relationships can open doors you didn’t even know existed.

For those early in their journey, focus on self-awareness, stay curious, and continually invest in yourself. These qualities and skills will grow with time and experience.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

The most impactful thing my parents did for me was lead by example. As immigrant entrepreneurs, they showed me what it means to work hard, stay resilient, and take risks. Watching them build their business from the ground up taught me the importance of discipline, perseverance, and believing in yourself.

They also instilled in me the value of independence and responsibility. They trusted me to make decisions and learn from my experiences, which gave me the confidence to take on challenges and pursue my own entrepreneurial journey.

Their unwavering support and work ethic continue to inspire me every day, and I carry those lessons with me in everything I do.
