We were lucky to catch up with Lita recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Lita, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose starting SCV Parent Guide because I wanted to show local parents all that Santa Clarita has to offer for families. I’ve lived here for over 10 years, 8 of them being a parent. We have so many beautiful parks, playgrounds, art studios, family friendly restaurants, free library activities, and special events. My goal is for everyone living in this beautiful valley, to see how wonderful this community really is.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I started my Instagram, SCV Parent Guide, earlier this year because as a homeschool mom we are always out and about. So I figured, I might as well start recording what we are doing! My intention starting this page, was to show all the awesome businesses and places that we have in our city. As a mom of three, it is my greatest joy to share new experiences with my children. Whether that is going to a new playground, ice cream shop, unique retail stores, or community events. I love showing families our fun local adventures, because I know other people would love them too.
A little bit about me, I am from Arizona, specifically, the Verde Valley, but have lived in Santa Clarita for a little over ten years. I love this community, and have met some really great people and business owners this year. My goal is to show everyone Santa Clarita’s charm!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
There are so many places in Santa Clarita, and surrounding areas within an hour, that people don’t know about. I am focused on showing parents kid-friendly events, community resources, playgrounds, and services that make it easier to navigate family life in Santa Clarita. Three things that were most impactful on my journey in growing my following is keeping it family focused, being authentic in my experiences, and supporting local businesses. My advice to anyone trying to start a page similar to mine, is to just be real, true to yourself and transparent in your experiences.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am always looking to collaborate with businesses, specifically local. But I love taking the kids on any kind of adventures too, whether that be pop-up events, farms, restaurants, educational science kits, amusement parks, holiday specials etc. The best way to contact me is via email scvparentguide@gmail.com to collaborate.
