Meet Liz and Lloren Llovera

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Liz and Lloren Llovera. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Liz and Lloren, so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?
Live authentically. Period. We both know what it is like to suppress a part of ourselves and we refuse to fall into that state again. We take this into our work as well. We call it a practice because we have to practice living authentically everyday. Honor your ancestors, honor your curiosity, try something new, get lost so you can rediscover yourself.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
We come from a diverse lineage spanning around the globe. As kids you could find us rockhounding and connecting with herbs in our community. As adults, we incorporated the healing remedies of our Aunities, Uncles, Grammas and Ancestors into a new kind of spiritual wellness.

Through play, Lloren began blending together dried herbs and resins, relying on intuition to guide their hands. The result was indescribable and the energy was palpable. After burning the mixture for friends and family, they decided to share the energy with their local Flea Market in Los Angeles. Joining forces with wife Liz and her background in health and wellness, this catapulted us into a new path of natural intuitive healing work.

We are all about Incense + Intentions, each of our Burning Blends has a specific intention that is supported by plant power. One day we had the magical idea to burn our incense inside of crystal vessels transforming our practice forever.
We now share our work through a line of various intentionally made products, including our latest Ritual Cleanser No.3 Ground. Inspired to help community ground together so we can grow together. Our mission is to create inclusive products and spaces that are welcome to all individuals seeking to reclaim and reconnect to their innate power.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Listen to your intuition. Always be a student.
Honor those before us.

Leading with these three intentions, you will always be on your path. Every journey is unique to you.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
Diving into our lineage and learning about the people of our past has been instrumental in our growth. The Forgotten People: Cane River’s Creoles of Color by Gary B. Mills. This is an actual book of Lloren’s ancestors from Natchitoches, Louisiana.

Developing our own agreements in life has been guided through books like The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, which we both have reread several times.

Since we are a social impact company contributing to the decolonization of ancient rituals and wellness, Liz often revisits anything by bell hooks as an essential touchpoint. She is currently reading Teaching Community: A Pedagogy of Hope; a discourse of race, gender, class and nationality.
