Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Liz Mbwambo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Liz, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
The biggest shift happened when I decided to leave my corporate job and start The LMB Marketing Group. Taking that leap required me to trust my own expertise in a way I never had before. Every milestone that followed, from signing our first clients to building a team, reminded me that I am capable of so much more than I once believed.
I’ve learned that confidence grows by showing up, taking risks even when they feel scary, and proving to yourself that you can handle whatever comes next. Each time I step outside my comfort zone, I become a stronger, more grounded version of the leader and business owner I want to be.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
We launched in October 2024 after spending years in media and digital advertising for some major brands. I had always loved helping businesses grow, but I reached a point where I wanted to build something of my own that aligned with my values and my vision. Starting this agency has been one of the most challenging and rewarding things I’ve ever done.
Right now, we’re in a season of growth. I’m focused on expanding our client base and bringing on more strategic, long-term partnerships. We’re also strategically incorporating AI and AI agents into our processes that are designed to help us internally give business owners more clarity and confidence in their digital presence. It’s an exciting time, and I’m really proud of the team and brand we’re building.
More than anything, I want people to know that our agency truly cares. We celebrate our clients’ wins as if they’re our own, and we show up with integrity, creativity, and heart in everything we do.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, three qualities have had the biggest impact on my journey: resilience, relationship-building, and a strong understanding of digital marketing.
Resilience has been essential. Entrepreneurship comes with highs and lows, and there were many moments—especially in the early months of starting The LMB Marketing Group—where things felt uncertain. Learning to stay steady, trust the process, and keep moving even when things weren’t perfect made all the difference. For anyone just starting out, my best advice is to practice resilience by taking small risks regularly. Each time you push through discomfort, you strengthen that muscle.
Relationship-building has also played a huge role in my growth. Several clients that I obtained while working at Spectrum Reach followed me to my agency. It has opened doors to introductions. It has allowed me to surround myself by the best movers and shakers. It has really been a blessing. I am a bit of an awkward person socially since I am naturally an extroverted introvert. So this is one I am so proud of.
Finally, a deep knowledge of digital marketing has been a major advantage. Understanding how social media, SEO, and websites work together allowed me to provide real value to clients from day one. If you’re building your expertise, immerse yourself in learning. Take courses, experiment with your own brand, and stay current with trends. The digital landscape moves fast, but staying engaged helps you stand out.
Overall, developing these qualities takes time, but you don’t need to master everything at once. Start with consistency, seek out growth opportunities, and surround yourself with people who inspire and challenge you. Every step forward, even the small ones, builds the foundation for where you want to go.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey was one of the most impactful. It helped my husband and me get our finances in order, which ultimately gave me the freedom to take the leap into entrepreneurship without feeling tied to the security of two incomes. The biggest takeaway for me was the power of intentionality. When you create a plan for your money and stick to it, you gain confidence, reduce stress, and create opportunities you didn’t realize were possible.
Lead Like Jesus influenced the way I show up as a leader. It reminded me that leadership is first and foremost about service, humility, and integrity. One of the most valuable lessons was the importance of aligning your actions with your values. That mindset has shaped how I lead my team and how I want our agency to show up for our clients.
Thou Shall Prosper by Rabbi Daniel Lapin gave me a fresh perspective on wealth and the role business plays in serving others. It helped me see entrepreneurship as a way to add value to the world, not just a path to financial success. One of the nuggets that stuck with me was the idea that profit is a sign that you’re meeting real needs and helping people. That shift in mindset helped me embrace growth without guilt and step more confidently into building something bigger.
Each of these books came into my life at the right time and offered wisdom that continues to guide me. Together, they helped me build a strong foundation—financially, spiritually, and professionally—that supports the work I do today.
