We recently connected with Liza Fleming and have shared our conversation below.
Liza, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I try to surround myself with positive people and an environment that’s conducive to good things. Although I’m very critic and have high expectations, I treat myself with kindness. I continuously revise and hold myself accountable which is why I set goals that keep me on track and make me feel valuable. I think knowing your self worth is important for you and to be able to help others.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I own a women’s boutique in the heart of downtown St. Pete, FL. ‘z•aa dress up studio’ is known for statement outfits and elevated essentials. The collection of clothing and accessories are curated to transition between work and play without sacrificing style or fashion. I have a passion for helping women style themselves in ways that push their envelope. We want their look to always match their confidence and spirit.
More than a store, along with my team, we’ve created a space where women can feel safe. It’s truly an extension of their closet… we strive to provide an experience where more than clothes, they come to a space where they feel comfortable about themselves. We often tell people: “we don’t sell clothes; we sell compliments”. And it’s true… our goal is that when you walk out of the door, you get as many compliments as possible.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I’m determined, disciplined, and have a strong work ethic. I don’t take ‘NO’ for an answer – – it isn’t an option.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
I used to go to the beach and read… since I own the business, that doesn’t happen as often as I’d like. Instead, I take a look at the mirror and talk to myself…. “You Got This! You better make your parents proud” Most importantly, I pray… I pray a lot.
As far as strategy, I set small and big goals, and it helps to stay on track.
