Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lockinvar “lock” Denis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Lockinvar “Lock” with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

I get my work ethic from my parents. Watching them work day and night to give me the best life possible inspired me and showed me that you have to hustle to get what you want. But it’s not just about working hard—it’s also about maintaining great energy and inspiring others to be the best versions of themselves

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I started in photography, and over time, I self-taught my way into filmmaking. What began as casually shooting photos with friends eventually turned into working with businesses, helping them tell their stories visually. Over the years, I’ve expanded my focus, taking on new ventures and collaborating with production companies in and out of Florida. Currently, I’m focused on adapting to new challenges, refining my craft, and bringing creative visions to life wherever needed.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

One would be understanding composition, lighting, and framing to create compelling images and narratives that evoke emotion and meaning. Second, Knowing how to market yourself, build a portfolio, connect with clients, and manage projects efficiently to sustain a successful career. Lastly would be to treat everyone with Respect no matter the size of their role. At the end of the day, we are all people.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

One thing I do is to take a step back from everything and clear my mind. Going to the beach, gym or getting a couple of games of basketball can be a quick reset for the mind.
