Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Logan Thomas. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Logan, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Before I share my perspective, I would like to emphasize that discovering one’s purpose is a highly individual journey that can occur at any stage or age in life. Many people, even in their mid-50s, may feel uncertain about their purpose or might have only recently identified it. This uncertainty can lead to a sense of missed opportunity or hesitation to fully invest in their newfound purpose. However, I want to assure you that it is never too late to pursue your purpose with dedication and enthusiasm.
According to Google, the definition of “purpose” is “the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.” With this in mind, it is possible to live each day with intention and meaning, even if you have not yet identified your specific purpose. Remember, your value is inherent and present every day.
Personally, I was fortunate to recognize my purpose at a young age. At 12 years old, I expressed to my mother a desire to create goody bags containing sandwiches, water, snacks, and socks to distribute to the homeless in Fort Worth, Texas. This experience was a revelation, solidifying my purpose to help others in ways can’t or don’t know how to help themselves.
With a clear sense of purpose, I committed fully to this path. While in high school, I pursued a cosmetology license with the goal of empowering individuals to feel confident and positive about themselves. Concurrently, I was active in my church and initiated a women’s Bible study group named COFFEE (Christ Offers Forgiveness For Everyone Everywhere), which fostered spiritual growth and supportive relationships among women.
Continuing on my journey, I earned a degree in interior design and now work as an interior designer at a firm in Dallas. This career choice aligns with my purpose, allowing me to help others transform their dreams into reality through design.
Everything I do is driven by purpose, specifically my purpose of helping others. While I was fortunate to discover this early on, I want to reiterate that it is never too late for anyone to find and embrace their purpose.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Most people who know me refer to me as the “Jill of All Trades.” This moniker reflects my diverse passions and interests, which span multiple fields and hobbies.
I am a licensed cosmetologist and continue to practice hair on the side, as I deeply enjoy the creative aspect of this profession. Professionally, I am an Interior Designer specializing in both residential and commercial projects. The variety in design elements from one project to the next keeps my work engaging and enjoyable.
In addition to my design career, I am passionate about fitness, particularly the lifestyle aspect of bodybuilding, not the getting on stage and competing, (although that might come soon in a chapter of my life). It is a potential future endeavor. My commitment to fitness and self-care led me to start my own lifestyle fitness coaching business, where I help women achieve their fitness goals.
Moreover, I host a biweekly women’s Bible study, where we read and discuss stories from the Bible, break down their meanings, and explore how we can apply these lessons to our lives.
Within the fitness community, I am actively involved in promoting fitness brands, whether through modeling their clothing or endorsing supplements. I find great joy in engaging with others and supporting health and wellness brands.
In conclusion, my personal brand can be encapsulated by the phrase “Jill of All Trades,” as it represents my wide-ranging skills, interests, and endeavors.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three key aspects that have driven my success throughout my life are the enthusiasm and passion I bring to every endeavor, the drive and motivation to achieve anything I set my mind to, and the self-confidence I maintain in all my pursuits. Without self-belief, I would not have been able to achieve what I have today.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful contribution my parents and family have made in my life is their unwavering belief in me. They have instilled in me a strong will and a sense of self-worth, ensuring that I stand firm and never let anyone undermine me. Their support and guidance have been instrumental in shaping who I am today and in achieving my successes.
