Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to London Monroe . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
London , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I love the way music made me feel while recording my first song. It’s fun, it makes me happy and I love hearing friends and family sing along to my music.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My name is London Monroe, and I am a young rapper at the age of 9. When I was just 6 years old, I released my first single called “Fleek”. It all started when my dad, Marcus, was playing around with a beat, and I asked if I could try to make a song. That’s when I created my first-ever song, and I even made a music video with the help of my cousins and friends.
What I love about making music is how I can express myself and convey my thoughts and feelings through lyrics. It’s a fantastic way to share my story with the world. I’m excited to share my new Song called “Dance and Live” It’s about us kids wanting to live in a safe world without having to fear if someone will hurt friends or family. Im determined to continue making music that inspires, uplifts, and connects people from all walks of life.
I wanted to share some exciting news with you. My dad and I recently wrote a children’s book called Inside A Rainbow, which features me and my mascot Snowball Yo’. We’re also working on a cartoon series that has Yours Truly and Snowball Yo’, where we’ll explore everyday life experiences that all kids can relate to while providing educational content. If you’re into music and looking for something new and exciting, you should definitely check out my website, londonmonroe.com. You’ll find everything from my latest book and awesome merch to upcoming events and more of my amazing songs!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Throughout my journey, my parents have been my biggest supporters. They’ve always encouraged me to be creative, have fun, and most importantly, be myself.
Don’t hold back, let your talent shine through! Embrace your dreams, and surround yourself with supportive family and friends. Remember that you have what it takes to achieve greatness, so go for it!
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
My Daddy. He’s been my biggest supporter since day one, always pushing me to go after my dreams. We have the best time together. We love sharing ideas and brainstorming fun ways to bring my passions to life. Our favorite thing to do is to get in the studio, make some music, and create awesome content for my Zigazoo. Even though he’s helping me chase my dreams, these are memories that I know I’ll cherish forever.
