Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Loren Richmond Jr. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Loren, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I get my resilience from my dad. Growing up, I watched him work multiple jobs to provide for our family, yet he never let go of his passions—running and ministry. No matter how busy or exhausted he was, he always made time for what mattered to him. His dedication, perseverance, and ability to balance responsibility with purpose showed me what it means to stay committed, push through challenges, and keep pursuing what I love, no matter the obstacles. His example continues to shape how I approach my own work, faith, and passions today.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m passionate about faith, leadership, and community impact. In my role with Green Room Leaders, I support ministry leaders in fundraising, programming, and strategic development to help them thrive. I also host the Future Christian Podcast, where I explore faith, culture, and leadership, helping churches navigate change.
What excites me most is bridging gaps, fostering meaningful dialogue, and empowering people in their faith and leadership journeys. Right now, I’m focused on helping churches engage their communities in new ways, including affordable housing initiatives through Abundant Ground. I’m also growing my podcast and consulting work to better support faith leaders and organizations adapting to change.
I’d love to connect—whether through Green Room Leaders, the podcast, or other collaborations!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are relentlessness, commitment, and hope—all rooted in a dedication to causes bigger than myself.
Relentlessness – The ability to keep pushing forward, even when things are difficult or uncertain, has been crucial. Success rarely comes quickly or easily, and being relentless means staying persistent despite setbacks. Advice: Embrace challenges as opportunities to grow. Stay curious, keep learning, and surround yourself with people who inspire and challenge you.
Commitment – Whether in faith, leadership, or advocacy, staying committed to the work—even when it’s not easy—has made all the difference. Advice: Find your “why.” When you are dedicated to something bigger than yourself, it’s easier to stay committed through the highs and lows. Build habits that reinforce your values and set small, consistent goals that move you forward.
Hope – Hope is what keeps me going. It’s the belief that what I’m working toward matters and that change is possible. Advice: Stay grounded in a vision beyond yourself. Hope isn’t just wishful thinking—it’s cultivated through action, community, and faith. Invest in relationships that encourage you, and when things feel overwhelming, take the next small step forward.
For those early in their journey, my best advice is to stay curious, keep showing up, and don’t be afraid to fail. When you dedicate yourself to something bigger than you, it gives purpose to the struggle and meaning to the journey. Growth comes through perseverance, and the more you lean into your purpose, the clearer your path will become.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
The Bible has been the most important book in my personal and professional development. It’s more than a religious text—it’s a source of wisdom, perspective, and grounding that continually shapes how I live, lead, and serve. The foundational truths found in its pages guide me in faith, hope, and love, helping me navigate both challenges and opportunities with resilience and purpose.
