Meet Lorne Carter

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lorne Carter. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Lorne, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

10 FOR 10. I have 10 Interviews on my calendar today scheduled to be hired….STOP if your are impressed with numbers you have failed, these are people not numbers. I understand the need for KPI’s and Metrics. When I first started in recruiting it was numbers until BOOM, a talent cried tears of joy in my office based upon the offer she was presented. This is what I REALIZED, once I stopped focusing on the numbers, and started focusing on the person and in return the numbers grew exponentially. SO…Today
There are 10 New Exited People, 10 New College Funds, 10 New Homes, 10 New Cars, 10 New Additions to my Team, 10 New Paychecks,10 New Retirement Plans, 10 New Benefits Packages, 10 New Birthdays to Celebrate and 10 New People Stronger!
You follow this principle and you too will get your 10 for 10!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1.) Being Genuine, 2.) Communication, 3.) Finding Commonalities

Combine all three of these characteristics into one, and you will be unstoppable at making connections and negotiating and closing any deal. For example, I made a social media post discussing just this, that I would love to share:

“I have 10 Interviews on my calendar today scheduled to be hired….STOP if your are impressed with numbers you have failed, these are people not numbers. I understand the need for KPI’s and Metrics.
