Meet Lovely Marshall

We recently connected with Lovely Marshall and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Lovely, so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?

Being the Only One in the Room: How I Learned to Thrive & Lead
I have always been the only one in the room—but not just in terms of race. Sometimes I’m the only enthusiastic person, the only person who believes in a project that others want to shut down, or even the only person who believes in myself when no one else does.

Being the only one has defined my experience in every setting—whether in corporate boardrooms, global stages, or personal relationships. At times, I’ve been the only woman, the only non-Ivy League graduate, or the only person who sees a future where others see a dead end.

But one of the most defining moments of being the only one came when I worked at a healthcare company. The environment was toxic—I wasn’t invited to lunches, I was overlooked in meetings, and the team culture was cliquish. I had two options: shrink and stay silent or use this as an opportunity to build my own table. And that’s exactly what I did.

The Power of Three: Learning from the Greats
In many of my roles, I found myself in male-dominated spaces. Whether Black, White, or Asian, I was often the only woman in the room. And this experience taught me one of my most valuable lessons:

Men, especially in business, communicate efficiently. While women tend to explain every detail (how we went to the store, how we chose the chicken, how we cooked the chicken), men focus on getting straight to the point.

This insight led me to study the greatest marketer of all time—Steve Jobs. He mastered The Power of Three. Every presentation, every pitch, every launch was structured around three simple points.

So, I applied this principle:
✔ I started every conversation with three things I wanted to cover.
✔ I ended every conversation summarizing those same three things.
✔ I made sure every meeting had a clear takeaway.

This made me a powerhouse communicator, allowing me to hold my own against Stanford, Berkeley, and Harvard graduates—because success isn’t just about where you went to school, it’s about how effectively you execute.

The Future: One of Each in Every Room
The real challenge isn’t just being the only one—it’s ensuring that in the future, no one has to feel that way.

The best rooms are not filled with just one dominant group—they are diverse, dynamic, and inclusive. There should be:
✔ One White male.
✔ One Asian woman.
✔ One Pakistani Muslim.
✔ One LGBTQ+ entrepreneur.
✔ One single mom.
✔ One first-generation college graduate.
✔ One person from a lower-income background.

When we create rooms that reflect the world, we eliminate groupthink and exclusivity and build true innovation. I’ve learned that being the only one isn’t a weakness—it’s an advantage. It forces you to adapt, innovate, and lead.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Turning My Story Into a Legacy: My Journey as an Author, Speaker & Powerhouse Builder
I am Lovely Marshall, a global speaker, Forbes influencer, podcast host, and business strategist, but one of my most recent and proudest accomplishments is stepping into the role of a published author.

For years, I have helped overlooked and undervalued professionals transform into highly paid powerhouses. But as I built my business, coached executives, and spoke on global stages, I realized something: If I don’t document my knowledge, my books will be buried with me. And I refuse to let that happen.

I am proud to announce my most recent success—the launch of my book series, The Powerhouse Journey—a collection of eight books designed to help professionals and entrepreneurs unlock new levels of success. Each book is a blueprint for accelerating career growth, increasing income, and leveraging platforms like LinkedIn, Eventbrite, and Google Reviews to become a recognized powerhouse.

This moment is bigger than just writing books—it’s about creating a legacy. Too often, people take their ideas, lessons, and brilliance to the grave. I refuse to be one of them.

What I Do & Why It Matters
My work is centered on empowering people to stop being the best-kept secret. Whether through:
✔ Speaking engagements at national conferences, corporate events, and industry panels
✔ My podcast, Powerhouses of the Global Corporate Stage
✔ My books, which provide step-by-step strategies for career and business success
✔ Live events and masterclasses, where I teach professionals how to leverage tools to add another zero to their income

I am focused on impact—not just inspiration. It’s not enough to feel motivated. I want people to have the exact tools, strategies, and scripts to get results.

What’s New & Exciting Right Now?
1. My Book Series Is Here! The Powerhouse Journey books are officially available for pre-order, and I am ensuring that these books are not just written—but read, applied, and life-changing.
2. Expanding Speaking Engagements – I have booked stages for Small Businesses, and major tech incubators to teach professionals how to turn their skills into success.
3. Corporate & Brand Partnerships – I am collaborating with business leaders, organizations, and media outlets to help amplify voices that have been overlooked for too long.

My mission is simple: No more hidden talent. No more overlooked brilliance. Through my books, speaking, and coaching, I am helping high-achievers step into their power. Because when one powerhouse rises, we all win.

So to anyone holding onto a dream, a story, or an idea—don’t let it be buried with you. Document it. Publish it. Share it. Change lives with it.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The Three Most Impactful Qualities in My Journey & Advice for Those Starting Out
Mindset – Your mind shapes everything. Right now, before you even buy books, Google Neville Goddard, Earl Nightingale, and Steve Harvey and listen to them. The way you see yourself, your ability to think positively, and how you shift your perception will determine your success.

Mastermind Community – The people around you matter. Some will uplift you in your darkest moments, while others challenge you to grow through discomfort. Instead of resisting, I now ask myself, What great ideas will I gain from this challenge? Growth isn’t always comfortable, but it’s necessary.

Enthusiasm – I am the undefeated champion of enthusiasm because I have survived 100% of my worst days. Enthusiasm is different from mindset—it’s how you feel. Your emotions drive action. If you feel defeated, your energy follows. Feel joy, feel excitement, and let those emotions push you forward.

Advice for Those Just Starting Out
Act now. Don’t wait. I wish I had done the things I’m doing now years ago—but I hesitated. Delay, procrastination, and fear cost you far more than taking action ever will. If you are reading this, it’s not by accident. The world needs what you have to offer. You matter.

Start today. Move forward. The only regret you’ll have is not starting sooner.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Seeking Collaborations & Partnerships for 2025
Yes, I am actively seeking collaborations and partnerships to expand my impact and create mutual success. My biggest goal for 2025 is to speak on 25 stages, and I am looking for event organizers, podcast hosts, and strategic partners to make that happen.

Who I’m Looking to Collaborate With:
1. Event Organizers & Conference Hosts – If you’re looking for a dynamic speaker who will captivate your audience, deliver high-impact insights, and drive transformation, I volunteer as tribute.
2. Podcast Hosts – If you’re searching for a guest with a compelling story, industry expertise, and a global following, I am ready to bring valuable strategies and actionable insights to your audience. I don’t just show up—I engage, promote, and create a lasting impact on every platform I touch.
3. Mastermind & Thought Leaders – I run my own mastermind group where we share resources, referrals, and opportunities. Whether it’s connecting speakers to major summits or ensuring we all stay ahead in our industries, I believe in collaboration over competition.

Why Partner with Me?
I believe in celebrating each other’s success. When we come together, we win together. If you’re looking for a speaker, guest, or strategic partner who brings enthusiasm, expertise, and an engaged audience, let’s connect.
