Meet Lucas Im

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lucas Im. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Lucas, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

Imposter syndrome is something I’ve faced at different stages in my life, particularly when taking on new challenges or stepping into unfamiliar settings. What aided me in overcoming it was first recognizing those emotions rather than allowing them to dominate my thoughts. I understood that feeling like an “imposter” is a common experience, especially when pushing ourselves and evolving as people.

One thing that was beneficial was concentrating on my accomplishments, having faith in the process, and reminding myself that I was allowed opportunities for a specific reason. Additionally, I looked for guidance from colleagues and leaders who had relevant experience and could offer perspective, reassuring me that it’s acceptable not to have all the answers and that growth is a never-ending journey.

A significant factor was fostering a growth mindset, where I welcomed learning from my mistakes instead of perceiving them as failures. This change in perspective allowed me to view challenges as chances for growth, which gradually reduced those feelings of being an imposter.

In the end, I’ve realized that overcoming imposter syndrome is a continuous journey, and now I emphasize self-reflection, ongoing learning, and acknowledging small successes, all of which contribute to keeping me grounded and confident in my capabilities.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’ve always been passionate about sharing my experiences through content creation. What excites me the most is the ability to connect with people across the globe through the stories I tell, the advice I share, and the experiences I document. My journey has evolved from a hobby into a lifestyle, allowing me to focus on active living, travel, and health content that inspires and motivates others to live their best lives.

The most special part of what I do is that it combines all the things I love—creativity, adventure, and helping others. I’ve had the privilege of traveling to incredible places and capturing these moments not just for myself but to share with my audience in a way that encourages them to step outside their comfort zones, pursue their passions, and prioritize their well-being. Whether it’s sharing bits and pieces of my life, or motivational messages, I aim to create content that empowers people to live a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Currently, I’m excited about a trip I am going on later this year to Honduras, Belize, and Mexico, as it gives me the chance to bring fresh perspectives to my audience, considering I have never been out of the United States. I am particularly excited about this trip because I believe it’s going to offer something unique that aligns perfectly with my mission to inspire others.

Looking forward, I’m always focused on evolving my content, expanding my reach, and continuing to inspire a community of like-minded individuals who are passionate about wellness, adventure, and growth. Every day brings new opportunities, and I’m thrilled to keep pushing myself creatively while motivating others along the way.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

In a world that is constantly changing, maintaining your curiosity and dedication to continuous learning and growth guarantees that you will always be developing and changing. Adaptability enables you to change your strategy, accept uncertainty, and transform barriers into opportunities when confronted with unexpected difficulties. Emotional intelligence also helps in understanding diverse viewpoints and making well-considered judgments. Together, these three traits help you develop resilience and knowledge while also creating powerful connections that drive personal success.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

The person who has had the biggest impact on my ability to overcome challenges and gain the essential skills that I need to succeed is my father. By always seeking knowledge and pushing me to tackle uncertainties head-on and consider distinctive ideas, he set an example for me and taught me the importance of curiosity and lifelong learning. I learned the value of remaining adaptable and finding answers even in the face of uncertainty from his persistent nature and situational flexibility. Above all, his emotional intelligence—his capacity for effective communication, comprehension, and listening—showed me the value of understanding and connecting with the world to fulfill my place in it.
