We were lucky to catch up with Luciana Godoi recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Luciana, It’s so great to have you on the platform. We want to ask you so much, but let’s start with self-care. Do you do anything for self-care, and if so, does it impact your effectiveness?
Life is a comprehensive experience, and everything is connected. I firmly believe that you can’t pour from an empty cup. My work for my clients requires much connection, compassion, and understanding. How can I demonstrate that to others if I’m not compassionate and loving to myself? I have woken up at 5:00 a.m. most of the past year to watch the sunrise and meditate. I usually run to the beach, or on the days I’m not weight training, I go to yoga and spend at least an hour with nature.
Our bodies have circadian rhythms that tell us when to wake up, eat, and sleep — even when to go to the bathroom regulated by small nuclei in the middle of the brain called the suprachiasmatic nuclei (SCN). Getting morning sunlight within the first hour of waking up is essential. Going outside is vital; We have not evolved to live in a closed environment. That morning routine has allowed me to have more energy throughout the day, be more present during counseling sessions, and improve productivity without burning out. When you have solid a.m. or p.m. routines, anything in between will be easier.
Thanks for sharing that. Before further our conversation, please tell our readers about yourself and your work.
As a highly experienced Clinical and Functional Medicine Nutritionist and Registered Dietitian, I have developed a particular interest in gut health and its critical role in overall wellness. Because of my personal experiences, I’m passionate about educating and fostering Healing in others. The Integrative and Functional Medicine approach seeks the root cause of my issues and finds true wellness and Healing.
I recognized the intricate connection between the gut and various health conditions, including autoimmune disorders, digestive issues, and chronic inflammation. This extensive knowledge has allowed me to create personalized nutrition plans tailored to each individual’s unique needs to restore balance and promote optimal health and digestion.
I empower my clients to actively participate in their health journey with a compassionate and client-centered approach. I believe in a collaborative partnership, working closely with individuals to understand their health history, goals, and concerns. Through assessments and specialized functional testing, I identify underlying imbalances and develop comprehensive nutrition protocols to support Healing and enhance overall vitality.
I provide one-on-one consultations and educational workshops while maintaining a private Boca Raton (Fl) practice. I’m excited to host my first retreat in March 2024 in Cartagena, Colombia, where I will dive deep into the five essential elements that will revolutionize your digestive health. In my free time, I work in the clinical nutrition scenario of Kidney and Heart transplants. My commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in Clinical Nutrition and Functional Nutrition allows me to deliver evidence-based guidance to my clients and patients.
Looking back, what were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks early in their journey regarding how they can best develop or improve on these?
1) Always walk from a place of Love. Allow Love to be the guiding force. When our actions, thoughts, and beliefs are rooted in Love, we come from a place of spiritual fullness and self-security. All the decisions will be coming from within. You will feel more energized, inspired, and coming from the fullest whole place of you. When your actions, thoughts, and beliefs are in fear, you will come from a place of lack, fear of ridicule, rejection, and failure. You will fear losing what is yours. You will worry that another person will receive more success. You don’t recognize and believe in your innate value and worth.
2) Be driven by a greater purpose. We were all put on this earth with a purpose to be great. Once you become aware of what that looks like, everything meant for you will come to you! Deepen your awareness of the present moment, and it will reveal itself so you can have a clear direction and vision of your mission for your life.
3) Listen to your intuition. There is a deep inner knowing. Trust that inner knowing, inner wisdom from within that’s guiding you. Trust your intuition if something doesn’t feel right because the more you do that, the more you start believing in yourself and your decision-making, and you will never have to guess yourself!
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities, or knowledge you need to be successful?
My spiritual teacher, Kevin Walton, and the Light Beings have been a blessing and a catalyst to my spiritual expansion, providing me with the tools, core values, guiding principles, central foundation, and skills to live as a conscious creator. His mentorship and program called the Creatorhood Initial Training ( CIT) has provided greater insight and application regarding Truth, Reality Creation, Emotional Intelligence, Power, Consciousness, Awareness and Choice, Imagination, and the ability to live life consciously and intentionally with purpose, exploring greater creative possibilities of life experience and a chance to take full command over my life in every aspect. I’m blessed and grateful to be part of that community.
