We recently connected with Luis Galvez and have shared our conversation below.
Luis, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
Creativity is one of the most important parts of my work as a photographer. For every photo session, wedding, or event, I need to keep my ideas and vision fresh, which constantly pushes me to stay on my toes. Creativity is a skill you have to keep developing by experimenting with new ideas and exploring different angles of photography. As long as you love what you do, you’ll always find ways to keep that spark alive.
For me, being a creative mind means I’m always looking for inspiration, whether it’s through tutorials, new styles, or simply paying attention to the world around me. I make it a priority to keep my work unique instead of copying what other photographers are doing. If I ever notice that one of my photos resembles something I’ve seen before, I challenge myself to modify it, add my own vision, and make it stand out as something different.
That’s why finding a photographer with a truly creative approach is so important. Creativity not only sets the tone for the experience, it also helps your photos stand apart from everyone else’s.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My journey into photography began with a love for landscapes. Capturing the natural beauty around me was my way of connecting with something greater. But everything changed when my wife became pregnant. In that moment, I realized how powerful it is to preserve memories not just for ourselves, but for the generations that follow. I wanted my daughter to one day look back and feel the love, joy, and emotion we experienced.
That realization gave my photography a deeper purpose. It stopped being just a passion and became a calling. Today, I specialize in weddings, quinceañeras, and portraits because these are the moments that define who we are. My goal is to blend artistry with authenticity, creating timeless, vibrant images that are both beautiful and meaningful.
For me, it’s never just about taking photos. It’s about the entire experience. I want every client to feel seen, heard, and cared for, which is why I focus on making the process personal, enjoyable, and stress-free from start to finish. Your memories deserve nothing less.
Photography, for me, is more than a career it’s a privilege. My mission is to help you hold on to life’s most meaningful moments with artistry, emotion, and heart.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that had the biggest impact on my journey are creativity, adaptability, and people skills.
Creativity: From the beginning, creativity has been the foundation of my work. It’s what allows me to see each wedding, quinceañera, or portrait session as something unique. I’ve learned that creativity isn’t something that just happens; it’s something you nurture by staying curious, trying new ideas, and challenging yourself to see the world differently.
Adaptability: No two events are ever the same. Lighting changes, timelines shift, and unexpected moments happen. Being adaptable has allowed me to stay calm under pressure and turn challenges into opportunities for beautiful images.
People Skills: Photography is more than just technical skill, it’s about connection. Building trust, making clients feel comfortable, and being attentive to their needs has been just as important as mastering my camera. Those relationships often lead to the most genuine and emotional photographs.
For anyone starting their journey, my advice is simple: keep learning, keep practicing, and keep connecting. Explore different styles, watch tutorials, and never be afraid to try something new. Stay flexible, because challenges will come, and they’ll help you grow. And most importantly, focus on people, listen to them, understand their stories, and treat every session like it’s personal. That combination will not only improve your work, it will make your journey more meaningful.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
In the past 12 months, my biggest area of growth has been refining the client experience. I’ve always been passionate about creating beautiful images, but over the last year I’ve put just as much focus on making the entire process; before, during, and after the event, seamless and stress-free for my clients.
That’s meant improving how I communicate timelines, setting clear expectations, and offering more guidance to make couples and families feel comfortable in front of the camera. I’ve also invested time in learning new editing techniques and exploring different styles, which has helped me deliver galleries that feel even more polished and timeless.
Ultimately, this growth has been about balance: elevating both the artistry of my work and the personal care I bring to every client. It’s taught me that photography is not just about the photos, it’s about the experience and the memories tied to them.
