Meet Luis Ledesma

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Luis Ledesma. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Luis, thank you so much for agreeing to open up about a sensitive and personal topic like being fired or laid-off. Unfortunately, there has been a rise in layoffs recently and so your insight and experience with overcoming being let go is relevant to so many in the community.
Getting fired from what was at the time my BEST job ever for my career choice, truly gave me the push to go full time entrepreneur & bet on myself. I always knew that was the end goal for me because the 9-5 lifestyle never felt right to me. Getting fired just sped up the time table & I’d do it all again. It was difficult at first, like anything; but finding myself & learning more about the world of entrepreneurship truly gave me the freedom of expression I needed.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is Luis Ledesma!

I’m a Dominican photographer & content creator based in Philly. I go by “imillvibe” because I’ve always wanted to create an amazing experience with anyone I work with, hence the “ill vibe.”

I create photo & video assets for a variety of clients & people. At my core I love sneakers & fashion, all while being able to express myself in my most authentic way. Giving everyone out there a chance to realize that anything you want out of life is possible, regardless of your upbringing, struggles & challenges.

I’m my most expressive in my podcast “The Niche Talk” which I cohost with my best friend Jerome (aka @215shooter). We’re currently streaming on Apple Podcast & Spotify!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I’d say my most important was always being punctual. Back in high school my principal at the quoted something that till this day sticks with me; “if you’re early, you’re on time. If you’re on time, you’re late” first impressions are crucial in any setting. So showing up early shows you’re invested & also gives you time for any last minute prep before and occurrence.

Unapologetically being YOURSELF. Everyone in this world is different, so showing up as you already sets you apart from the “standard.”

Surrounding myself around like minded individuals & even older people in the same field. I always push people to invest in the company they keep, & to realize that being around older people will only give you free game into what’s to come in life.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
The past year has been very heavy emotionally. I strived to make others happy before myself & that’s something that has grown exponentially. Leaving more about myself, what fills MY cup up first before worrying about the people around me. Don’t get me wrong, I thrive off of making sure everyone around me is good in any way I can. But making sure that I’m at my best, mentally, physically & spiritually, before I begin to invest in anyone else has been the best thing to happen in the past year
