Meet Luke Karmo

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Luke Karmo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Luke, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I found my purpose through exploration, by trying many different things and paying attention to what truly resonated with me. I was always open to new places, activities, and people, following my curiosity wherever it led. Eventually, that path brought me to an acting class. Out of all the adventures I’d experienced before, acting felt instantly in alignment with who I am. I had a natural understanding of the craft and an intuitive connection to it that I couldn’t ignore. Looking back, I realize every experience along the way was preparing me for that moment, leading me to discover my purpose through acting.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

As an actor, what excites me most about the craft is the ability to tell stories that other people can deeply relate to. Growing up, I was always fascinated by movies. I gravitated toward them because they helped me make sense of the world and how we connect with one another. I’ve always been intrigued by people. What drives them, how they behave, and what they hide. And I’ve long considered myself a keen observer of human nature.

When I began taking acting classes, the process felt instantly natural. I felt like I already understood the essence of embodying another human being. The ability to express that truth through dialogue and action, especially alongside other actors doing the same work, was exhilarating then, and it still is today. My goal is to give audiences the same experience my heroes on screen once gave to me: to help them feel seen, moved, and connected.

I currently have several new films and series in production and set for release soon. To stay updated on my latest projects, follow me on social media and IMDb.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three qualities that have truly helped me along the way are: a willingness to keep learning, a deep understanding of myself, and compassion, both for others and for myself.

The advice I’d give anyone just starting out is to remember that you’re embarking on a journey. For most of us, myself included, it’s not a quick one. You’ll rise and fall many times along the way, and that’s not only okay, it’s necessary. You have to try things, fail, and discover what works and what doesn’t. That’s how you fine-tune your instrument, which is you.

Be patient with yourself. Growth in this craft takes time, honesty, and persistence. If you stay open and committed, the rewards will come. And they’ll mean even more because of everything you overcame to earn them.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

One of the most impactful books I’ve ever read is Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. Reading the Roman emperor’s private reflections on how he navigated the challenges of his time helped me become more grounded in my own life. His words reminded me that we can’t always control what happens to us, but we can always control how we respond.

Before reading it, I often found myself worrying about the daily struggles of life, wondering if I was doing enough or going far enough. Meditations helped me cultivate a deeper sense of calm and presence. It taught me to see stress not as something to escape, but as something to meet with steadiness and perspective.

As Aurelius wrote, “You have power over your mind – not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.” That idea alone changed how I move through life, helping me handle challenges with more clarity, resilience, and grace.
