Meet Luke Schneider

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Luke Schneider a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Luke, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I wanted to craft high-quality coffee with a mission from the beginning of Fire Department Coffee. It wasn’t until I met my friend Damien that we realized how much of a need there was to support our fellow firefighters who were sick or injured. Damien was a CAL Firefighter who was paralyzed when a tree fell on him during a wildland fire. He was the inspiration to do more.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

At Fire Department Coffee, we craft high-quality coffee that supports our fellow firefighters and the communities they serve. Every day is something new. When you’re building a brand in one of the most competitive categories, you learn a lot as you grow. Our mission and commitment to our communities and fellow firefighters have helped keep us focused. We need to continue innovating and finding better options for our customers, which is why we recently launched our Skull-Crushing Instant Espresso Coffee.

Bold by name, bold in taste — this isn’t your grandma’s instant coffee. Crafted for those who live life at full throttle, Skull Crushing Instant Espresso delivers a rich, smooth taste designed to fuel the toughest shifts and wildest adventures.

Created for busy professionals, outdoor adventurers, and everyday coffee drinkers who won’t settle for less, the single-serve Instant Espresso pouches deliver quality without compromise. It’s ready in seconds — hot or cold — and it offers coffee shop quality at a fraction of the cost.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

It starts with having resiliency and not giving up. The challenges will shape you and your team, making you stronger on the other side. Additionally, finding creative solutions and thinking outside the box enables you to create value, whether for your business partners or customers. My advice for others on their journey is not to quit; give it 100% all the time. What is worse than failing is never knowing because you didn’t stay the course.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

God. He always provides, no matter the circumstances. I couldn’t have planned what we have now with Fire Department Coffee if I had wanted to. I’m truly blessed, and He has put the right people in my life at the right time, giving me a wife who has stood by me through it all. If you stick with it, you will learn; your thinking will evolve as you gain knowledge and experience, unlocking new opportunities along the way.
