We were lucky to catch up with LUZ NINO recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi LUZ, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
My optimism comes from the desire to be the best I can be, from the love and support of family and friends. Also, believing that everything I do matters.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Luz Nino, and I am the owner of Lumiere Cafe Colombiano. During the past few months, I have attended multiple sessions with the Better Business Bureau and other organizations to make sure I am prepared to offer the community the best quality service of our brand. This has been a wonderful opportunity to connect with other entrepreneurs and I have learned so much from their partnership.
My goal with Lumiere is to provide sustainable and amazing quality coffee. From a unique and underappreciative region of Colombia. This is very special to me as I grew up in this region and can attest to its beautiful landscape and incredible potential for coffee.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Some skills that I find important to develop are empathy, resilience, and creativity.
Empathy has allowed me to connect and listen to others. Also, it has allowed me to understand that we all are going through the same journey but living it differently. Challenges are part of our lives and make us evolve, so being resilient is important to take these challenges as an opportunity to grow and adapt to changes. Staying creative is a way to feed your motivation and a way to stimulate your mind. My advice is to explore your uniqueness, the world needs that. Surround yourself with people that inspire you, and be open to feedback.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
As our community continues growing, it is difficult to reach out to all. That’s why the support of local initiatives such as the Bold Journey, helps to reach out to others. As a small business, I would love to collaborate and partner with local coffee shops, bakeries, and restaurants. I would love to support and collaborate with anyone in event planning, community events, or organizations that can provide a point of sale.
