Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lydia Reed. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lydia, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
When people ask where my optimism comes from, I think it really stems from the nature of running my own agency. At LPR Agency, I’m not just the person behind the scenes, I’m essentially the whole engine. Being self-employed means I wear many hats, and every part of the business, my clients’ campaign results and happiness, the trust and reputation I build, and ultimately the sustainability of the agency, rests on my shoulders. That can be daunting, but it also teaches you that you get out what you put in. Optimism, to me, is both a choice and a tool. It’s about setting the tone so that even when challenges come up, because they always do, I’m able to get up, brush myself off, and keep moving forward. That mindset isn’t just about staying positive in my personal life, it’s crucial in business too, because as a one-woman show, there’s no one else to rely on. So I’d say my optimism comes from knowing that a positive outlook is what helps me navigate those ups and downs and ultimately shapes the success of my agency.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m Lydia Reed, the founder of LPR Agency, a UK-based independent music PR company. I’ve spent just under a decade working across the UK and US music industries, with experience spanning management, licensing, publishing, and ultimately finding my real passion in publicity. A big part of my journey was time spent immersed in the Los Angeles music scene, which shaped how I approach campaigns and gave me a strong international outlook.
At LPR Agency, we offer PR that’s genuinely personal. Every campaign is tailored, detail-led, and built around what each artist actually wants to achieve, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. I’m a huge advocate for customisation, whether that’s shaping a story, building a profile, or finding the right opportunities that feel authentic to the artist. We work across genres and with clients all over the world, focusing heavily on digital media while also pushing for creative, impactful coverage that delivers long-lasting results.
International exposure is always a key aim. Our campaigns reach blogs and publications across the globe, helping artists build visibility far beyond their home country and take real steps forward in their careers. We’re there to amplify their story, boost engagement, and make sure their music reaches the right ears.
One of the most exciting parts of running LPR Agency is getting to work with such a diverse range of artists from all over the world. Discovering new music, different genres, and different perspectives never gets old, and it’s what keeps the work inspiring. Helping artists feel heard and recognised for what they’re creating is at the heart of everything we do.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I’d say the three most impactful qualities and skills in my journey have been adaptability, relationship-building, and a strong work ethic driven by passion.
Adaptability has been crucial, especially as the industry constantly evolves. It’s about being open to new paths and seizing every opportunity that comes your way, which has definitely shaped my journey.
Relationship-building is another cornerstone. I’ve always prioritised genuine connections with media, artists, and industry professionals. Those relationships are invaluable and have been key to creating meaningful opportunities for clients.
And then there’s my strong work ethic and passion. When I first entered the industry, I embraced every opportunity and worked tirelessly, driven by a genuine passion for what I do. That eagerness and dedication really shine through in every campaign and have made a significant impact.
For those who are early in their journey, I’d advise embracing every chance to learn and grow. Stay passionate and dedicated, and never underestimate the value of hard work and perseverance. Those qualities will help you stand out and pave the way for lasting success.

How would you describe your ideal client?
When it comes to our ideal client, I truly believe that there isn’t a one-size-fits-all. We work with a wonderfully diverse range of artists and genres from all around the world, and we welcome clients at any stage of their career. What really excites us is the variety and uniqueness that each campaign brings. It keeps our work fresh and dynamic, and it constantly challenges us to think outside the box.
For us, it’s less about fitting a specific mold and more about genuine passion and enthusiasm. We love working with clients who are as excited about their music as we are and who are actively involved in their campaigns. That collaboration and eagerness to engage with press and share their story really makes a difference and leads to better results.
Ultimately, the key things we look for are a shared passion for the music and the belief that we can achieve great results together. That’s what makes the partnership truly rewarding and successful.
