Meet Lyisha Lollie” Allen”

We recently connected with Lyisha “Lollie” Allen and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Lyisha “Lollie”, thank you so much for joining us and opening up about the very personal topic of divorce. So many in the community are going through or have gone through divorce and we think hearing about how others dealt with the aftermath and managed to build a vibrant, successful life and career despite the trauma of divorce can be helpful to many who might be feeling a degree of hopelessness. So, maybe you can talk to us about how you overcame divorce?
Experiencing a divorce while raising three children led me to a previously unknown space in my life. There were moments when I struggled to fulfill my parental role and even to muster the energy to start the day. This situation led me into the depths of depression and anxiety, emotions I had never encountered before. Consequently, I made the choice to seek help through therapy, a decision I continue to uphold four years later. Through therapy, I acquired the necessary skills to navigate my thoughts, emotions, and uncertainties within the context of this unfamiliar phase of my life.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I began my career in the nightlife industry as a bottle girl, hookah attendant, and bartender. As I gained more experience, I realized that I had a talent for this line of work and decided to turn it into a part-time hustle. Together with a friend, we started a mobile bartending service in Memphis, TN. However, I eventually moved back to my hometown of New Orleans and resumed my work as a bartender and hookah attendant. Clouds and Cocktails is a local New Orleans business that started out as a mobile bartending and hookah rental company. During the pandemic when things began to shut down I realized I needed tangible products. Items that customers can use in the home during the pandemic. I started my research and began selling hookahs and smoke products including my own company branded vape products. As the world began to open, the business began to grow. First expanding into bar and hookah consulting for business and then making a world wind into the Hemp and Cannabis industry. I now have a legal hemp dispensary in the City of New Orleans. I am also the founder of Prom 4 Nola a 501c3 nonprofits that helps senior in high school transitioning to college

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
