Meet Lylelana

We recently connected with Lylelana and have shared our conversation below.

Lylelana , thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?

I’ve often been the only one in the room who looks like me.
When I started my first career in the corporate fashion industry in New York, I was one of only two Filipinos in the whole company and the only one in my department.
At first, I felt like I didn’t belong and was out of place, but after a while, I realized that being different was my strength and what makes me unique. I chose to show up as myself, with nothing to prove, just pure, real, raw me.
That same mindset carried into rooms full of successful entrepreneurs when I was starting. There was a time when I was the only asian.
The key is to be yourself, trust that your uniqueness is your superpower, and own your place at the table.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I was born and raised in the Philippines and moved to New York at 20 years old to start a new life. I built a thriving career in corporate fashion in product development, working with top brands and powerhouse women. It was a dream, until it wasn’t. Despite my “success,” I felt unfulfilled and knew I was meant for something more.

So, I took a leap of faith, leaving my stable job to find my true purpose. I explored different paths from yoga to coaching swimming before realizing I needed to take my life into my own hands. During the pandemic, I launched what felt impossible: being an entrepreneur. It began as health coaching and evolved into holistic life coaching, astrology, and intuitive guidance, tools that saved me from being stuck, chronic depression, and suicidal thoughts.

Now, I co-create with ambitious, driven women who want deeper self-understanding through the beauty of reinvention, gain clarity on their purpose, and design a meaningful life they truly love, not one society dictates or expects.
My approach blends grounded life coaching with astrology and intuitive guidance, helping clients step into their fullest potential in mind, body, spirit, and cosmic alignment.

I lead online and in-person workshops across the U.S. from San Diego, LA, and NYC, and internationally. My work is rooted in integrity, passion, fun, and transformation, with a belief that life is abundant and magical when you believe in possibility and have faith in the universe.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

It’s hard to narrow it down to three, but here’s what’s made the biggest impact on my journey:

1. Faith in yourself and the universe. Everything starts within. If you don’t believe in yourself, it’s going to be a challenge. Trust that you’re supported by a higher power-God, the universe, Source, whoever you believe in so you can co-create with something bigger and powerful than you.

2. Courage to take risks and try out new things. The magic happens when you take bold action toward your dreams without overthinking. Get out of your comfort zone. In my mid-30s, I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried triathlon, scuba diving, and surfing for the first time, and I ended up falling in love with all of them. Had I not ventured out to try new things, I would’ve never discovered the passions that light me up today. It depends on the type of person you are: you can either take one step at a time or jump and take that leap.
Courage is built with devotion, practice, and by just doing it.

3. Genuine kindness. I’ve always believed that the energy you put out comes back. Be real, be kind, and treat people the way you want to be treated. If you can’t do that, I suggest you just stay home LOL.

My advice to folks who are early in their journey: Know yourself deeply-your gifts, your strengths, your challenges- be your own best friend, trust your intuition, be open/flexible to change (the only constant in the world), and take consistent action until faith and courage become second nature. Stay devoted to your growth every day-keep going and co-create with the universe because when you do, epic magic happens.

Bonus: Stay in integrity with yourself and have fun in life.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

It’s always been my two strong grandmothers-Esmerald and Ernestina. They taught me to be resilient, take risks, have faith in a higher power, believe in myself, be kind to others, and keep growing. Their lessons, stories, and words of wisdom remain the solid rock and fire that fuel my soul.
