Meet lynn Baribault (baribo)

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lynn Baribault (baribo). We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Lynn, thanks for sitting with us today to chat about topics that are relevant to so many. One of those topics is communication skills, because we live in an age where our ability to communicate effectively can be like a superpower. Can you share how you developed your ability to communicate well?
When I was younger I was truly shy and I did not really feel that I had the skills to effectively communicate outside of my family. I was different as an intuitive and often saw the spirit world walking side by side with the human world. Talking about spirit was not readily accepted at the time leaving me without anyone to discuss what I saw and felt. I became quite the observer of others’ relationships and friendships. I learned to communicate more clearly through employment as a when a lifeguard for example where I taught children how to swim and enjoy water. I felt at ease with them and so, since I had gained teaching skills, it was logical that I gravitated toward that role as an adult and, therefore, became a teacher. I describe myself as an introvert, an intuitive channeler as well as a teacher. I am also a private person and so, after years of teaching and raising my daughters, I started my own business of Lynn Baribault At Clearing Paths, offering intuitive channelling sessions and a variety of healing modalities for which I am certified. I was again faced with the fact that it was still difficult for me to best communicate what my skills were in order to gain a regular clientele. It was hard for me to share my skills, letting people know that I was able to see, hear, and feel spirit and that, in using my skills, I could help them and many others. It was truly the desire to help others that forced me to learn to clearly communicate the wisdom spirit wanted me to share. My grandmother, actually a devout catholic, yet a very curious person trying to understand my world, greatly helped me express myself and explain my skills in a clear manner. She would call me up and say: explain how you know spirit is there, how you hear so clearly what you have to say to clients, how you know that what you hear is true, and so many more ponderings on her part. It was hard at first, as I often didn’t quite know myself how it all worked as I just knew it did. Gratefully, we persevered and I can now say that I am clear as to what I do, what I offer and what I bring to the world as my own unique intuitive self. I am proud of what I offer and have seen countless times over many years, how by trusting my skills, I have helped so many individuals make sense of their lives, their wounds, and help them gain understanding of their journey here on earth.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I was born and raised in beautiful Quebec City and now live in Ontario. I am, as we all are, on a journey of trust. A journey within ourselves, with others and a journey as human beings. I walk my journey hand in hand with Spirit and in this, I find such comfort. Truly, I am never alone. I love how Spirit is always so eager to help us live our best life here on earth. My goal in being of service to clients is to bring more joy, compassion and understanding to one’s life so clients feel more centered, calm and better able to navigate their past and their own current lives.

I simply love channeling. When channeling, I am honoured to work with many Spirit Guides for whom I am truly grateful. They are advisors and carriers of wisdom. They are always ready and eager to share their skills when asked. One large group who has shown up for me in recent years is an incredible collective of children called the W.O.W.W. Children. W.O.W.W. stands for “Wise Olde World Wisdom”. Little Mia is their Leader and the wisdom she shares during a session is always spot on. It always surprises people that she appears to me as three year old, wearing pretty dresses but don’t let that fact fool you as she is larger than life. Over the years I have come to know that my Spirit Team always comes through and, depending on what the client needs are, specific Guides come forth to lead the healing session.

Other services I offer are Channeled Business Intuition, and what I call “The Melting Pot” which is a mixture of all of my skills crammed into one session. The combination of skills are endless! These may be channeling, oracle cards, spiritual insights on a variety of topics, body and energy scans to the discovery of which guides walk with you at this moment. The addition of a pinch of mediumship is also possible.

I have always loved to write and I am proud to be a published author. Through the Perfectly I’Mperfect: remarkable stories of ordinary women overcoming extraordinary circumstances anthology, I am an International Best selling author as my chapter: Am I Enough As I Am Now? is featured in the book. I am also the proud author of “How to Raise Your Children with Wisdom and Awareness” where I share the wisdom channeled from Spirit Guides, Archangels, and Ascended Masters who, from above, have set to motion a series of shared insights, exercises, and prayers to guide parents and guardians in this important role of raising children. Anyone who cherishes children can learn from this book. More books are in the works as well as the Cedar Wheel Oracle Deck where I not only have channeled the content, but where I am currently painting each Spirit inspired vision for each card. A true labour of love and trust!

I am a certified practitioner of The Compassion Key which has literally changed my life as it clears Karmic Imprints which have long bound individuals to old patterns and beliefs. The Compassion Key is a simple yet powerful system for healing the inner child so life can be lived in its truest form here on Earth. It is a coming home to your true self. The confidence, healing and joy this healing modality has brought to my life has been life-changing.

Lastly, I host my very own radio show called: Seeds of Wisdom on News For The Soul, out of New York. Spirit gives me the theme for the episode the day before the recording and I channel the content live! Live audience members join the call and receive channeled insights for their current lives.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Keep going and trust! Life is such a beautiful stream of joyful moments with unexpected twists and turns. It also contains much hardship, trauma and heartbreak. Through all of these, I have learned to keep going and trust that, in the end, I am supported and that I will not only survive, but learn valuable lessons allowing me to continue to grow and thrive as an individual. I am a perfectionist and also slightly ADHD where my brain is always filled with new ideas and possibilities. This has been a challenge to say the least. My grandmother had the best question to reset me when I was frustrated. She would ask: “Will you remember this on your deathbed?” If I said no which I often did, she would say then accept it or change what you can and keep going.

Additionally, I am able to look at a situation and see the many sides of an issue. This has been very beneficial when helping people and clients as I feel it encourages more compassion for others and for ourselves. Without the dismissal of feelings in these instances, seeing and being able to acknowledge the bigger picture eases the resolution of many issues. I use this tool/perspective when I get too anxious in my own life. We can and do get bogged down, lost in the meanders of our thoughts. However, we can typically once more find our way when taking a moment to rest, breathing consciously, and re-setting our bodies by with physical movement.
Lastly I would say that I have the ability to both truly listen to what is being said and to feel the undercurrents of unspoken truth. This has certainly guided my life as an intuitive. Even though this came fairly naturally to me, I have worked hard at developing this skill further. I can affirm that it is truly a gift as it allows me to see the different layers of expression of self and others. I can therefore feel more apt at navigating difficulties, frustrations, thoughts and feelings.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
I have lived with anxiety and self-doubt for most of my life. It has been a hard journey in so many ways and I am still learning. I appear together, confident, and strong! And in many ways, I am. Yet… I have a very sensitive heart and, at times, will lack confidence in my skills and abilities. With my anxiety and my high expectations of what I want versus what I can actually achieve, I have had to learn to pace myself, give myself breaks, and space to breathe.

I am a single mom and have raised my now grown daughters on my own, with very little support. I have always felt that I needed to do more than others to compensate for being a single parent. I used several strategies to help myself through a rough patch. When I start to feel overwhelmed, I have purposefully trained myself to acknowledge this feeling and not ignore it or hide it away. I try to identify my thoughts and feelings as clearly as I can. Another strategy includes ensuring that I walk on a daily basis and, more often than not, I try to walk in nature, in forests, or near water. If I start to get too stressed, I will do 5 minutes of deep breathing to slow down the pace of the day. Further, I have added a routine when I wake up, where I take time to lay in bed for a few moments to connect to Spirit and set the intention of my day in a positive light. I will also end my day by acknowledging that I am truly grateful for what I have actually achieved, instead of berating myself for what I did not. Being very comfortable living on my own, I make the effort to reach out to be with friends and family as being social is important!. My daughters are very wise and know me well so I can always turn to them to get their views of what I struggle with. These are some of the ways I have learned to help myself navigate my brain, my heart and my life. I am, of course, still learning.
