Meet Lynnda Pollio

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lynnda Pollio. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lynnda below.

Lynnda , thank you so much for making time for us. We’ve always admired your ability to take risks and so maybe we can kick things off with a discussion around how you developed your ability to take and bear risk?
Risk is a practice.

If you wish to become something you’ve never been, risk is required. I have failed more times than I have succeeded, but these failures guided me into experiences of growth and self-discovery. With each risk taken, intuition, skill and self-awareness build.

When I decided to enter advertising years ago, I was discouraged by everyone because of my lack of experience. I was expected to fail, pursued my dream anyway, and soon accepted my first advertising job. Three years later, I had risen to EVP of Corporate Development at a major New York advertising agency. At the top of my game, I left this lucrative position to become an independent business development consultant, discovering it aligned better with my personality and its demand for freedom.

Later, I realized my mission would be helping others understand and navigate the fundamentals of human consciousness. Once again, I abandoned the security I knew to move into the unknown field of conscious business practices. At first, it was difficult to get anyone to understand what I was offering, let only pay me. After a slow start, supporting many small companies pro-bono with advertising, marketing and communications, I was considered a thought leader. This led to a high-profile position as the world’s first Chief Consciousness Officer at a global futurist marketing consultancy. None of this would have happened without accepting risk.

Trusting the Currents, my multi-award winning, Amazon Bestseller in Inspirational Fiction, would not exist without the leap of faith it took to listen to an unexpected voice in my head, push myself through feeling crazy, and begin writing. The book took years of commitment, transforming my life direction in the process. So far, it has won 13 literary awards and is an Amazon Bestseller in Inspirational Fiction.

To manage risk, you must overcome not only your fears and concerns, but of those around you who are stuck in their own uncertainties. So, you search for that inner voice of courageous curiosity and do what it takes. It’s exciting, throwing yourself into challenging and often precarious risk for something you want. Then, of course, you have to accept the inevitable failures that come with risk, brush yourself off and keep going. Regardless of outcome, risk always leads to a deeper understanding of self.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My passion in life is helping others explore their inner universe, to travel into the unknown spaces within the soul that the chaotic external world hides from us. I am here for those rare sensitive beings who are in their hearts and doing their best to navigate life in a world that isn’t.

We will continue to move deeper into our global transformation; most of us are being challenged both internally and externally. As a Consciousness Doula, I am dedicated to supporting people and businesses birth expanded levels of consciousness. When you are able to shift into a higher state of awareness, into the unseen, new solutions and ideas emerge. Whether I am counseling someone through a spiritual awakening, intuiting the best business strategy or creating meaningful communications for a brand, I do it through the lens of consciousness and energetic frequency.

My vision is to create a portal through my www.wisdomkeeping.com website for people who are beginning to awaken to an expanded sense of reality. At WisdomKeeping, they will be able to participate in online courses, small group initiatives, community and counsel to support their body, mind and spirit through the changes ahead. The website portal is still being developed but you can sign up to be notified when it is fully alive!

I believe engaging heart-centered consciousness is the only way we will make it through our current world disorder. As someone who lives by collaborative interdependence, I work with many others on this life path from around the world. If you are having a conscious awakening, you are on this path too. I look forward to hearing from you.

Whether it’s my calling as a Consciousness Doula at Wisdomkeeping, my visionary novel, Trusting the Currents, or The Wishing Bowl, www.thewishingbowl.com, an Intention Frequency Medicine gift I created, my desire is to help people understand who they truly are beyond their social conditionings and guide them into a creative, caring space of transformation and self-value.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
We all are born with certain innate abilities. Other skills we cultivate over time based on experience and interests. My three most valuable qualities were both innate and cultivated by choice, enhancing all of my knowledge and educated skills. They became the foundation for the way I live my life and how I succeeded in my diverse endeavors. By becoming adept at these qualities, life evolved in ways I never imagined. These are Curiosity, Consciousness, and Integrity.

Without curiosity, I would never have had my wild, innovative life. Curiosity is the spark of inspiration and imagination, igniting courage in challenging times. Curiosity invites risk and adventure, and is the seed for becoming something you’ve never been. It’s also a potent antidote for fear. Become curious of your fears and see what happens!

Consciousness is expanded awareness, and includes what people call spirituality. When you explore your inner universe, and the invisible frequencies around us, your understanding of yourself and the planet grows. Unique gifts appear, perception explodes; intuition, wisdom, energetic sensitivities become unique tools to negotiate life. As I journeyed into consciousness, my second set of eyes opened and I saw everything through a transcendent new lens.

Without integrity, no one knows who you really are. Sure, it’s about being truthful. But, too often we hide behind masks and wonder why people don’t see us. For me, integrity is integrity of the self, showing up authentically, open-hearted, with all my imperfections and vulnerabilities. Integrity builds beneficial relationships and helps discern your own sense of who you are. It also makes life a lot easier. Curiosity nourishes consciousness and consciousness invokes integrity.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
Overwhelm is almost the norm now. People are so immersed in it, they don’t realize its running their lives. That’s why slowing down and communing with the overwhelm matters. When you allow yourself to feel your overwhelming emotions, you bring them to the surface to be examined and released. Our collective future holds much overwhelm. Learn how to co-exist with fear and anxiety. Accept them into your life as tools of self-awareness. Holding compassion for yourself and others transforms how you experience overwhelming situations.

I created one exercise to support myself when I get highly stressed. Too often we react to stress instead of responding to it. When I am in an overwhelming experience, I stop, and look intently at my right palm. I ask myself, Is this true? Is the intense fear I’m feeling true to this moment? This puts me into a neutral state and projects the fear out of my body where I can examine it. Most of the time our overwhelms are rooted in old traumas triggered by a current fear. We emotionally overreact. We unconsciously take this past trauma, drag it into the present moment and decide it’s our future as well.

Overwhelm also induces exaggerated negative feelings. Once I connect with that fear, I look at the palm of my other hand and ask, So, what is true? Then I consider all the positive things happening in my life, feeling deeply into those. If you can’t find anything positive at that moment, decide what you are grateful for. Gratitude is a powerful human technology. As you examine what is good in your life, overwhelm releases its grasp and you can see your challenge from a more expansive perspective. Overwhelm begins to lift like a fog. Once you have calmed, take one small positive action. It can be making a phone call to a caring friend, having a green juice, walking in nature, anything that is good for you. In most cases, the big monster of overwhelm you were feeling diminishes. This exercise neutralizes the overwhelm and intense emotions of the moment.
