Meet Mac Steele

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mac Steele. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Mac, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

This is easy, I had the greatest role model in resilience and that is my Dad. In March of 1998, he was married to the most amazing woman who was mother to his three sons. He saw her that morning and by evening that night, she was gone due to a tragic and unexpected heart attack. Most people would retreat, find comfort in something that was not healthy but he didn’t. He poured himself into his three boys, his work, and his friends more than ever.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I lead a family-owned manufacturing business with my cousin with deep roots in industrial equipment and material shaping technologies. Our work centers on the legacy and innovation of J.C. Steele & Sons—an enterprise that has helped shape foundations, homes, and industries across the globe for over a century. What excites me most is how we’re evolving our technology to not only serve traditional markets but also address industrial waste challenges, sustainability initiatives, and cleaner production methods. It’s not just about machines—it’s about making things better than we found them.

Professionally, we are focused on strategic growth, both in refining our core offering and expanding our impact through partnerships, branding, and global collaboration. We’re currently undergoing a brand and website redesign to align our outward identity with the forward-thinking work we’re doing behind the scenes. We’re also investing in laboratory standardization and new equipment rollouts, including advancements in high-pressure extrusion.

Our mission is to be the world leader in heavy industrial shaping solutions for tough raw materials, capturing value while reducing waste, to leave things better than we found them..

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Ask for help, there are plenty of people who have made the same mistakes you are about to make so develop a good network of mentors, therapists, coaches, and friends who can help you along the way.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

It is difficult to pinpoint one person, my wife has been my rock despite all things that life has thrown against me since I became a professional. She challenges me to be my best, even when I don’t want to be and that carries over into work, home life, etc.
