Meet Maci Webb

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Maci Webb. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Maci , so happy you were able to devote some time to sharing your thoughts and wisdom with our community. So, we’ve always admired how you have seemingly never let nay-sayers or haters keep you down. Can you talk to us about how to persist despite the negative energy that so often is thrown at folks trying to do something special with their lives?

Any time you build something that’s personal, and different than what is expected, you’re going to run into people who don’t get it. Some will think it’s unnecessary, some will call it cheesy, and some will just be hateful for the sake of it (that is the nature of the internet!) Early on, that kind of feedback can feel personal, especially when the work itself is so emotional. But I’ve learned to treat those reactions as a sign that the business is distinct enough to spark an opinion. Not everyone is the audience, and that’s okay. What matters is the people who do need it, the couples who benefit from my service.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I founded and run Well-Said Weddings, a custom wedding writing business focussed on vows, speeches, ceremony scripts, and any other words you might need on your wedding day. At its core, it’s a business that helps clients say what they don’t know how to say. My job is to translate their story, their voice, and their relationship into something that feels honest, specific, and deeply personal.

I feel extremely honored to share in these deeply personal, special moments with clients all across the globe. It is an honor to get a peak at humanity in this way: connecting with people over their most important stories and feelings in their lives. I am constantly reminded how universal some feelings are, which is special for me.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

To start something new, anything new, you have to be bold. It can be easy to get stuck in the “what ifs” but I’m a firm believer that expertise is built by doing. I also credit the success of Well-Said Weddings to my ability to dream and chase. Lastly, I think any business owner or founder needs resilience, every step of the process.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?

Storytelling has always been my purpose. Sometimes that looks like writing wedding vows. Sometimes it looks like telling my own family’s story, creating memories and documenting the magic of our lives. And sometimes it’s the stories of my friends, living them, sharing them, and preserving them.
