We were lucky to catch up with Mad Mike recently and have shared our conversation below.

MAD, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

MAD Mike from Dual Diagnosis found his purpose through his experience with personal afflictions. He transformed his struggles into a mission to help others facing similar challenges. MAD Mike’s story inspires and educates others about the importance of recovery and community support. He navigates his emotions through his music, which expresses his journey of resilience, self-reflection, and perseverance of overcoming his personal battles while finding hope.

Through his own spirituality, he found experience, strength, and hope within his music genre, which is a blend of introspective lyrics fused with alternative rock, hip-hop, and horror-core rap. This style creates a raw emotional expression, addressing candid narratives of affliction while promoting self-discovery through powerful melodies and rhythmic beats. MAD Mike’s sonic soundscapes and raw emotional lyricism create a powerful connection with listeners while delivering an authentic and engaging sound.

Dual Diagnosis began as a creative outlet for members facing mental health challenges. MAD Mike combined his experiences into powerful music, aiming to raise awareness and promote recovery. His journey emphasizes connection, healing, and the importance of supporting one another through shared struggles. MAD Mike is a passionate advocate for mental health awareness. His music reflects personal struggles and triumphs through his creativity and vulnerability.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

As CEO and owner of Lost Soul Productions LLC, we are a creative company focused on producing music and multimedia content. It aims to tell compelling stories and showcase artistic talent, while fostering collaboration among musicians and recording artists in the underground music scene/industry.

MAD Mike’s new EP (which is set to be released sometime in 2025) features an exciting and eclectic mix of new collaborations, which comprise vibrant beats and hard-hitting lyrics. Each track explores themes of overcoming toxicity through the spiritual journey of love, struggle, and growth. This showcases his electric sound and artistic evolution. Fans can expect a fresh and engaging experience with artists such as Merkules, Lex The Hex Master, NEMS, Mr. Hyde, R.O.C., and Terminology. The new EP will be mixed and mastered by Albert Charlemagne (AKA at the Brooklyn’s Dragon Lair). The instrumentals are mainly produced by C-Lance. MAD Mike looks forward to continue developing his sound, working with other horror-core rap and rock artists within the underground genre, and growing long lasting friendships with musicians and recording artists.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three most important qualities, skills, and areas of knowledge that were most impactful in MAD Mike’s journey is 1. Empathy to connect with clients, 2. Strong communication skills to build trust, and 3. Spiritual and mental health awareness to provide community support.

MAD Mike’s connection to his own spirituality, ensures his ability to help others. This spiritual connection also ties into his music. In order to produce unique sounds, technical proficiency, and a strong work ethic, MAD Mike consistently refines his craft and engages with his audience through a comprehensive and compassionate approach.

MAD Mike’s father was an American entrepreneur in business. He was recognized for his contributions to startup ventures and innovation in various industries, emphasizing growth and development in his projects. His work often focused on enhancing user experiences and leveraging new equipments.
