Meet Maddy Corbin

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Maddy Corbin. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Maddy below.

Maddy, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

Imposter syndrome is a fickle bitch! I had many times in my early creator career that I let it get to me. I would feel like there is no way someone would want to watch this or care about this or I would mind race about what others that knew me prior would think. It truly is a slow growth to overcome imposter syndrome but I feel it helped the most to remind myself daily that we are all humans, trying to figure out this shit show. The influencer you love watching her daily life? She at one point questioned if anyone would care. That other influencer you go to for daily meal inspiration? At one point or another questioned if he was good enough to even share. But the minute you realize all the people you idolize at one point or another were in the same position you were—everything shifts.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Hey you beautiful bitch! My name is Maddy Corbin and I am your online hype and inspirational bestie. I share my life online through home decor, relatable voiceover vlogs and all the weird and fun and exciting in between. Think like a wine night with your girlfriends, that is what I want my content to give. I am super excited to be going into holiday season—I’ve got roundups of everything you’ll need from gifts to recipes & DIY nights with your girls or boo!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

One of the most important skills I learned along the way is to burn and turn content faster. I used to put EVERYTHING into 1 video, but in todays world content moves FAST—people want more quick, relatable items to consume. The more I let the “it has to be perfect” mentality go, the faster I grew. I feel another quality of my work is it’s relatability. If we are organizing a nightstand, you’ll truly see EVERYTHING in my nightstand. If I am doing a voiceover after a trip I’ll give you the brutal honest truth about it. Feeling like my girls can relate to me through my content is SUPER important to me. Lastly another skill you have to learn along the way is to not let things get to you. The internet can be brutal and some people will comment anything they think or feel—but it only has to get to you if you let it!

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

Letting me be who I wanted to be. I didn’t want to go to college? “Okay, do it. We support you” I want to start posting my life online because I feel passionate about creating content. “Great, we will be your first likes”

Parents have a beautiful responsibility to help their children grow into adults but the minute I found my passion and knew where I wanted to go the most impactful thing they did was say GO FOR IT, and WE SUPPORT YOU.
