Meet Maddy Lee

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Maddy Lee a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Maddy, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?

Over the past year of working in the wedding industry, I tend to find I am the only one like me in many rooms. I have also found that a lot of people don’t know about my services because they haven’t met someone else like me. Being the first one people meet in the field has taught me that how I present myself and work is how people view other creators. It has forced me to always put my best foot forward and be the best version of myself in every room I step in. All I can do is hope that when I leave those rooms I am leaving a good impression for future creators to step into!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

In The Moment Content Creations was founded on helping small businesses focus more time on their services and products and less time on social media. We allow them to do what they love while we handle their platforms. Whether it be content days, social media assistance, or full-blown management, we’re here to help!! Why spend all your time working on social media marketing when you’re away from work when you can bring in the experts?!

While ITMCC started by servicing small businesses, I was drawn to wedding and event content. When I got the opportunity to try it, I knew it was going to change my life and others. If you’re unfamiliar with this concept I capture weddings and events from an iPhone. Yes, you read that right: an iPhone giving my clients a chance to relive their biggest days the next day with a 48-hour turnaround time. It’s a crazy concept, I know.

Imagine with me here; you wake up the day after one of the most monumental days of your life and you have left your phone in a bag the entire day. You have no photos or videos; you just have memories to remember the day with. Just as you pick up your phone you get the notification that all 850 videos have been added to your album. All because you hired the content creator! Now you have all these videos to look back on the day with and you didn’t even touch your phone!

With that being said, we are offering new packages at a discounted rate to the first three couples to book them for 2025! We are also welcoming some new creators, which means more availability for weddings and events! If you’ve been curious about wedding and event content and want to learn more, please feel free to contact us! We love a good yapping sesh, especially if it means making your life easier!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Man, if I could go back to Maddy a year ago and give her this advice, I would! But I can’t, so I’m giving it to you!

One, stop being so afraid of what others think and say. If you spend your days worrying about them, you’ll never grow as a person or a business. You will never be every one’s cup of tea, and that is okay! The people who are meant to work with you and support you, they’ll find you.

Two, everything happens at the right time for you. You have to overcome many different battles, both in business and as a person to get to where you’re meant to go. Take the time to face them and grow from them; that’s how you’ll get to where you’re meant to be.

Three, take the time to enjoy the little things. Time flies all too quickly, and although we all know it, we tend to forget it when life gets crazy. Take the time to do what you love, and spend the extra hour with loved ones instead of working. The reality is that work will still be there after you live your life for a day!

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Yes, we are! As I mentioned, I work with small businesses and offer event content!

We would love to team up with some small businesses as we head into the holiday season to capture their seasonal events! It could be a work party, a festival, or a family function! If you find it important and would rather spend time with the people there and less time on your phone, we are here to help!

We would also love to work with some local nonprofits and charities to donate some free services to 2025!
