Hi Madeline , so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?
I have learned to become successful and effective in a room with no one that looks like me or even anyone to help by always putting God first and seeking his guidance. I put confidence behind knowing I’m an honest woman and protected by my morals I stand behind. I also am happy and openly willing to helping others in anyway that I can welcoming

Hello my name is Madeline Gabaldon Magana, I am 26 years old and I am a new mother of my daughter who just turned 1 years old. I’m the oldest sibling of 6 and I am also a twin. I’ve experienced a lot of pain, struggles, and poverty in my lifetime, with those experiences it has given the drive to seek more and become successful and to help others in need.
To me Success looks like being financially free, guiding other beginning entrepreneurs, and taking care of my family. I believe that first step for me to taking care of my people looks like entrepreneurship in my business and journey with Pre Essence Lash & Beauty. Being the oldest and now a mother, something sparked in me to give my attention to my faith in God and my passion in the beauty industry to take care of others.
Pre Essence beauty also known as Pre Essence Lash & Beauty, is named after my daughter, Presence. She woke something in me up after being depressed and stagnant for so long when I found out I was going to have her. Her presence in my womb made me put my focus on where I was at that moment in my life and where I needed to go. I had no other choice but to turn to God and ask for his guidance and help. That’s when my passion came back to me and I fell back in love with everything beauty.
I graduated beauty school back in 2018 as an esthetician. Beauty has been a long time passion for me and at that time I knew I wanted to do beauty services and have a beauty business, I just didn’t know life would happen, and at that younger age of 18 putting business to the side and partying first was easy. 6 years later I’m here today to purposely to be an example that no matter how long you feel or how far your dreams have been pushed back, it’s never to late to pick back up your dreams and passions…
Today I am the CEO of Pre Essence Beauty where we sell lash tools products to professional lash artists and beginners with assurance of beautiful luxury and high end products. We also offer esthetic services from lash extensions to waxing services and soon to come brow laminating services and much more. At Pre Essence we are really focused on giving our clients a CARE-FULL service meaning while they are in our presence their time and hard earned money is not our focus, their health and self care time is.
It’s important we all take care of ourself and fill our own cups before caring for others. We understand that can be hard to do in this day and age and with everything happening so quickly. That’s why I’m honored to be the owner of Pre Essence Beauty knowing we are focused on being a vessel to self care for our clients and make them feel amazing and cared for while taking our time to service them. We also include the same standards and care in each package of our products that are shipped.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I’ll feel like one skill you would have to really have, which is not really talked about too much that I learned quickly in the beauty industry and building my business was to not focus on everyone else’s success posts on social media. You need to put that same focus and energy it in your own passion and put it in your own success in real life for your business not in other peoples business.
A second skill I have would say is needed for success is to work hard against the noise or imposter syndrome. I have definitely had my fair share of imposter syndrome and believing I was not worthy of being a known successful CEO, or a lash artist, but my hard work and my dedication to being a very happy caring service provider by working long hours and long nights with so much going on around and ignoring the negative talks is a skill that I have worked overtime with because if we’re being honest, we can be our own downfall and we can not have that in a successful business.
Lastly an important Quality I believe that a lot of successful businesses have is good customer service, with the quality of being an openly respectful good person to others. No matter if it’s a client or a vendor, that will take your business very far and much further faster versus being limited to people because you don’t know them or they’re not at a standard, which you withhold. I always say and believe to treat everyone respected and the same because if I was to not, I could be blocking my own blessings.
Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
Believe it or not, but an important book that I have been studying recently more than ever, and by reading this has helped build the person who I am today and build my confidence and encouragement in life and the business by giving me peace of mind is the Bible.

They definitely give me hope and assurance that no matter what obstacle I’m hit with as long as I have the Lord and his word or his promises near me, I am safe and my business is blessed and I am blessed. As for me in my business sharing this goodness to others create a strong foundation and journey.
