Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Madison Kline. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Madison, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I’ve built my resilience through the support of the people around me and the challenges I’ve faced over the years. I’ve experienced some significant personal losses — from losing loved ones and close friends to saying goodbye to pets that meant a lot to me. These experiences were difficult, but they taught me how to stay grounded, adapt, and keep moving forward. They reminded me that, no matter what life throws at you, it’s possible to grow stronger and more empathetic through adversity. That resilience has carried over into my professional life — it helps me stay calm under pressure, adapt to change, and support others through challenges.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’ve been a photographer for several years, and my brand is built around celebrating diversity and individuality — especially within Utah’s photography scene. My work stands apart from the traditional light and airy style that’s popular here; I focus on a darker, moodier aesthetic that brings depth and emotion to every image.
I’m often recognized for my ‘spooky’ or editorial-inspired shoots, particularly during the Halloween season, though I incorporate that creative energy into my work year-round. I’m always exploring new concepts and pushing myself creatively to keep my portfolio fresh and versatile.
I’m also expanding my focus to include more couples, weddings, and family sessions, offering mini sessions at accessible rates to make professional photography available to more people. One thing that sets me apart is that I always deliver all of the best images from a session — I believe in giving my clients the full story of their experience, not just a small selection.
I pride myself on creating a comfortable and fun environment during shoots, helping clients feel confident and natural in front of the camera.
Many of my clients come back because they appreciate not just the photos, but the experience — creative direction, communication, and care.
Looking ahead, I hope to continue growing my brand by collaborating with other local artists, expanding into destination shoots, and building a community around creative storytelling.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
One of the most important skills in photography is truly learning your camera inside and out. Take the time to understand settings like ISO, shutter speed, and aperture, and how they work together to create different effects. Experiment with various angles and lighting setups to find what works best across different types of photography.
Don’t be afraid to play around with your editing style — try new techniques and push your creative boundaries. The best way to grow is to keep learning, whether that’s through tutorials, online courses, or by asking more experienced photographers for advice.
If you’re just starting out, consider doing trade-for-print or collaboration shoots to build your portfolio and gain experience. Don’t worry about getting paid right away; focus on improving your craft and getting your name out there. Look for local photography groups, styled shoots, or creative meetups — they’re a great way to challenge yourself, gain inspiration, and connect with others in the industry.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’d love the opportunity to collaborate with more creatives across different areas of photography. I’m especially interested in expanding into automotive photography — working with cars, motorcycles, and similar subjects — as well as concert photography. My long-term goal is to travel with my work and capture stories from new places and perspectives. I’m also passionate about continuing to grow in wedding photography and connecting with more couples to document their special moments.
