We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Madison Sexton. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Madison below.

Madison, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

Imposter syndrome can be one of the most detrimental challenges anyone can face. Without self-awareness and a mindful approach to self-treatment, one can easily fall into an endless cycle of self-doubt and negativity. Personally, I lead a dynamic and multifaceted life, engaging with a diverse range of individuals from varying backgrounds and realities. The contrast between these circles and their respective lifestyles is often significant, and it can sometimes lead to judgment until others take the time to truly understand me.
I have always been my own harshest critic, and while I’ve made progress, I still find myself being overly self-critical at times. My life has unfolded differently than I had envisioned at this stage, and it isn’t exactly where I want it to be either. However, I consciously remind myself to pause, center myself, and acknowledge the progress I’ve made, comparing my current self to who I was before. This ongoing journey of self-discovery and embracing the experiences that life has to offer is a constant source of growth. I believe practicing gratitude is an essential part of my daily routine; it is important to be thankful for both what is and what is not.
There are moments when I question myself or feel inadequate, especially when I make a mistake or fail to trust my initial instincts. However, I have learned that the key lies in how we treat ourselves in these moments. As soon as I catch myself being critical, I quickly shift my mindset, reminding myself of my strengths and affirming, “I am capable, and I love myself.” The way we speak to ourselves, with patience, grace, and self-compassion, is fundamental to maintaining a positive outlook. Acknowledging our passions and cultivating gratitude for all aspects of life—both what has been and what may never be—helps foster a healthier mentality and more fulfilling days.
It is vital not to compare ourselves to others or focus on what we do or do not have. Taking time to recognize and appreciate our personal achievements is crucial because, ultimately, we are the ones responsible for our own success. Life is unpredictable and often quirky – embrace its flow. Exploring this existence and new experiences pursuing our true passions can make it all the more rewarding. We have only this moment, so why not make the most of it? There is no need to wait for the “perfect” time to start anything new; growth happens through action and learning.
Ultimately, we are all human, and we all deserve grace, patience, understanding, and compassion as we navigate this unique and extraordinary journey. Remember, if we were all the same, life would be far less interesting. So, embrace who you are, pursue what you love, and let your individuality shine.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Hello, Friends! I’m Madison Sexton, also known as YourFavoriteMadison!
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, I’m an Advanced Esthetician, and I guess you could say I’m a bit of a micro-influencer and model. Though, to be honest, I’m just here for the fun of it – social media and modeling are my creative outlets, not my career. I’ve always had a passion for fashion, beauty, and sharing my latest discoveries with others, whether it’s trying out new trends, testing beauty products, or exploring health products. I’d say I have an eye for quality things and I love offering my honest reviews to help you decide what’s actually worth your time and money.
Growing up, I was always involved in extracurricular activities like soccer, dance, acting, modeling, and equestrian jumping. In my early twenties, I even tried to join a talent agency but didn’t sign with one. Instead, I ventured into the influencer world purely for fun, and before I knew it, companies were reaching out to me to review products and share discount codes with my followers. It’s been such an exciting journey!
Now, here’s the thing—many influencers stick to a specific niche, but I’ve always been someone who loves a variety of things. Whether it’s food recipes, fashion, makeup, skincare, travel, or even just sharing some funny life hacks and jokes, I want to share it all! Life is too full of amazing things to limit myself to just one area! But if I had to pick one thing I’m most passionate about, it would definitely be fashion. I’ve always seen clothing as wearable art and loved how it allows us to express ourselves.
At one point, I even had my own small online boutique, and I’ve definitely thought about relaunching it. I also dream of someday opening my own spa offering beauty services. But for now, I’m focused on work and school, with social media influencing being something I do for fun. Right now, I’m back in college pursuing nursing, with the goal of advancing my career in Advanced Aesthetics.
My journey hasn’t always been easy. In my younger years, I struggled with my appearance and often felt disconnected from the person I saw in the mirror. I dealt with terrible skin, which is what motivated me to attend esthetician school. I wanted to not only help myself but also educate others about skin care, beauty, and self-confidence. It’s amazing how taking care of your skin can make such a difference, not just in how you look but in how you feel about yourself.
In the beauty world, it’s easy to be tempted by popular products, but not every product is right for every skin type. Sometimes, trying the wrong products can do more harm than good. That’s why I believe it’s so important to understand your skin’s needs and to know what products will truly enhance your beauty goals.
I’m so excited to continue this journey with you and share everything I’m learning along the way. Thanks for being here and supporting my little corner of the internet!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I truly believe that some of the most important qualities anyone can have are kindness, clear communication, vulnerability, patience, boundaries, self-respect, respect for others, confidence, honesty, curiosity, integrity, and the ability to ask questions.
You never really know who you might meet or cross paths with that could significantly impact your life in a positive way. Skill isn’t everything because skills are learned over time. If you’re willing to research, put in the work, and try, you’re already ahead of the game. And if you fail? That’s still something to celebrate! The fact that you tried means you’re learning and growing. Each experience is a step forward, and failure doesn’t define you—it’s just part of the journey.
I’ve had a few friends reach out to me recently, asking for advice on how to start their influencing journey. They were worried about things not being *perfect* from the get-go, and I totally get it! As an influencer, it’s easy to feel like you’re hitting a wall when things don’t feel good enough but here’s the thing: it’s completely okay if things aren’t perfect right away. Do what you can with the resources you have now, and remember—you’ll get better with time. Just because it’s not perfect doesn’t mean someone won’t appreciate what you’ve created and shared. You’d be surprised how much your authenticity resonates with others.
I absolutely love when friends reach out for advice on skincare or beauty services. It’s such a rewarding feeling to help others achieve their beauty goals, and I’m always happy to share what I know. There’s so much joy in connecting with others and supporting them on their own journeys, and I’m here for it!

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I am always excited about the opportunity to collaborate with other creators! While I don’t necessarily identify with one specific niche, I’m open to creating content with a wide range of individuals from fashion designers and makeup artists to podcast hosts, event organizers, and entertainers. The possibility of working together or to be apart of shows or live events would be an incredible and fun experience!
My love for the entertainment industry has been a constant throughout my life. Growing up, my mother enrolled my sisters and me in dance, singing, acting, and modeling classes, and she would fly us to California for movie and commercial auditions. Interestingly as I entered my twenties that passion naturally resurfaced and it became second nature for me to openly share my life with others. While being open to the public has its ups and downs, the positives have always far outweighed the occasional negative judgments.
I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with many businesses and talented creators from making entertaining content, modeling, offering advice, and promoting a few brands. I truly enjoy meeting others where we share passions and I can amplify their voices; I’m always looking for new ways to connect and support fellow creatives and businesses.
