Hi Madison , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I draw my resilience from a profound and transformative journey that shaped the very core of who I am today. Growing up from nothing, in an environment plagued by addiction and alcoholism, presented numerous challenges and obstacles that could have easily led me down a destructive path. However, I chose a different course—one fueled by the desire to rise above my circumstances and create a better future for myself and those I cared for.
The adversity I faced early on in life instilled in me an unwavering determination to succeed. Witnessing the harmful effects of addiction within my family served as a catalyst for my pursuit of a different destiny. I knew that I wanted to break the cycle and pave a new way forward for myself and my loved ones.
At the tender age of 17, I made a courageous decision that would forever change the trajectory of my life. I took responsibility for my siblings’ overall well-being, and through an incredibly challenging process, made sure they were under the roofs of the family who would best take care of them. This experience taught me the true meaning of resilience, as I navigated through uncertainty and hardship with a steadfast resolve to provide a brighter future for my family.
Throughout this journey, I discovered an inner strength and resourcefulness I never knew existed within me. It was the unconditional love I had for my siblings that drove me to overcome every obstacle in my path. I sought opportunities for personal growth, education, and self-improvement, as I recognized that the pursuit of knowledge and continuous learning would be key to breaking the chains of my past.
Each step I took in my pursuit of success was not without its challenges, but I embraced every setback as an opportunity to learn and grow. The support and mentorship I received along the way from compassionate individuals further fueled my determination to create a life of purpose and significance.
I obtained a full academic scholarship and through the University of Southern Maine, I graduated with my BA in Communications Marketing with a Minor in Public Relations. I was always lacking a community – a place that felt like home. May 10th marked my one year anniversary of living here in Orlando and I have fallen in love with it! This modern, vibrant, innovative, and passionate city has allowed me to flourish.
Today, as I reflect on my journey, I am humbled by the transformation that has taken place. From a life of adversity and uncertainty, I have emerged as a resilient individual with a vision for success and a commitment to making a positive impact on the world. My story serves as a testament to the power of hope, perseverance, and the unwavering spirit of human resilience.
I believe that sharing my experiences can inspire others who may be facing similar challenges to believe in their potential and to know that they, too, possess the strength to overcome any adversity. I aspire to be a beacon of hope, guiding others towards the path of self-discovery and empowerment.
Life may have presented me with a difficult starting point, but it is the choices I made and the unwavering belief in my ability to rise above that have defined my journey. I embrace my past as a testament to the incredible potential within each of us to create our destinies and rewrite our stories.

I am a Travel Makeup Artist based out of Orlando, Fl. However, I am willing to explore all national and international locations! I specialize in bridal, photography, and soft glam makeup. Over the years, what I’ve realized is that mindset plays a huge part in our ability to thrive in a world that seeks to limit us. Confidence is something that each of us need to consciously practice each day. I found my confidence in my artistry. When I was 17, I started doing makeup on friends and family. I spent hours watching countless videos in hopes to one day open my own brand.
I created my own brand: Mindset Makeup Co. Mindset Makeup Company is all about going from surviving to thriving, hardships to prosperity, and creativity to possibility. Growing up, the odds were not in my favor. Traumatic experiences only directed me towards the path I was destined to go down – to saving my family, telling my story, and learning how to break generational curses. My mission is to create a safe space with anyone who sits as my client because you are MUCH more than just a client. Let’s laugh, find confidence, and grow TOGETHER.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Throughout my travel makeup artist journey, several qualities, skills, and knowledge have been incredibly impactful on my path to success. Firstly, adaptability has been my greatest asset. Working in different locations and with diverse clients has taught me to quickly adjust to new environments and cater my makeup techniques to suit various styles and preferences. This flexibility has not only honed my craft but also helped me forge lasting connections with clients from all walks of life.
Secondly, the power of communication cannot be underestimated. Understanding my clients’ desires, concerns, and expectations has enabled me to create personalized looks that truly resonate with their personalities. Building a rapport with them has not only made my job more enjoyable but also brought repeat business and invaluable word-of-mouth referrals.
Moreover, continuous learning has been the driving force behind my growth as a makeup artist. Staying up-to-date with the latest trends, products, and techniques through workshops, courses, and online resources has allowed me to stay ahead of the curve and offer innovative makeup solutions to my clients.
Above all, passion and perseverance have been my guiding lights. Embracing my love for makeup and facing challenges head-on has fueled my determination to overcome any hurdles on this journey. The road hasn’t always been easy, but the reward of seeing my clients’ confidence shine through their beauty makes every step worth it.
