Meet Magda Fuskova

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Magda Fuskova. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Magda with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I know exactly where my work ethic comes from. At the age of 5/6 I started playing all kinds of sports and then chose basketball that has been my life until my 20’s. In my opinion this gave me the understanding that if you want to achieve something, you have to have a goal, work hard and wise, be patient, be ready to step outside your comfort zone and always aim to do more than what is the normal or average. Also basketball is a sport where its not just about YOU , its about having the responsibility for others and helping others – it works the same way if you have a company and want to have a good satisfied team working with you. I am also very grateful for my parents for who I am and for all help I received from them. They are very important for me.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am from Prague, Czech Republic. When I was in second grade, my entire family moved to the US for a while and then back to Europe. Since that time I always missed the US and set a goal that I will once live there. I tried many paths like professional basketball, sales and management for different international companies and then my path brought me to entertainment and to Los Angeles where I felt like home, was very lucky to create amazing connections and friendships.

Now, after a 10 year fight with figuring out what to do and how to get my visa I have a international company consisting of GAT management ( www.gatmanagement.com , @gatmanagement ) which represents actors internationally and GAT studios ( www.gatstudios.com , @gat_studios ) that is everything from photography, video and production of any kind. I cooperate with the best experts to provide the best quality there is.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I think for me it would be learning how to do sales and communicate with people in business and overall, persistence and not taking no for an answer ( believing that there is always a way ), being dependable with any tasks I had to get done and not promising things I know I can’t do. That way people know they can rely on me. And also it is important to have a plan. You can’t wake up not knowing what you will do that day.

I think people have to realise that if they want to create something or get somewhere they have to actually do it, spend time and effort. Then things can happen.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
I would like to establish something that people will remember, work hard to create something that would help others that are in need. Travel and see the World and spend time with people I love.
