We recently connected with Maggie White and have shared our conversation below.
Maggie, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity comes from my roots. My great-grandparents would help anyone who needed help. They would take food to people who were sick, who had a death in the family, or who just brought a new life into the whole. They would help harvest crops. They would open their homes for people who were past thought. Throughout my childhood, I watched my grandparents and parents carry on this tradition. Even if they didn’t know who the person was, they would still help them. Still, to this day, I take food to people who need it. This past Easter, I helped fill eggs with bible verses for the elderly people. At Christmas, I help fill stockings with hygiene products to take to hospitals and nursing homes. I am one of the few people who still carry on this tradition. I am teaching my kids to help others and to remember to always be thankful for what they have.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am Maggie White, a student at UoPX. I am a mother of two handsome boys. I am also a certified consultant for Scentsy. I am also the Senior SNT Director/Communication Lisasion of the NSLS UoPX Chapter. I am currently working on my master’s in business. My occupation is working directly with special education children. I aim to be a positive example for those who seek inspiration, purpose, or a journey. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family. My family is my world. During the summer and fall, you can find me in the kitchen canning, or making jellies, and jams I enjoy helping at the local church. I love learning new things.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
My three most important qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge are leadership, problem-solving, and discussion-making. My discussion makes sure everyone has a voice and I listen to everyone. My problem-solving would be making sure I stay on task, helping people find the problem, and finding their solution. My leadership helped in all areas of my life.
What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
My most significant growth area in the last 12 months would be getting my Bachelor’s and working to finish my Master’s in business. NSLS is also a big part of my growth, Assisting fellow members in achieving and discovering their goals.
