We recently connected with Mahdi Dalton and have shared our conversation below.
Mahdi, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
From my accomplishment, and I gained my accomplishments from the lack of confidence and self-esteem growing up I always felt like I had to take things the hard way because good luck would never happen to me so when I got to a place of personal accomplishment, it gave me the confidence in the self-esteem because I remember how hard those things were and how I was able to come up with the resilience to get through those things and it basically gave me all the tools to believe that I can achieve and do anything I want so now I spend my life going after the goals that I Feel will give me personal sustenance in life
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My name is Mahdi Dalton. I’m a comedian. I go by Mahdi Gotti I went to college to get a engineering technology degree and afterwards I gain the confidence to achieve my dreams after I achieved my goals I pretty much accomplish my Plan B so that I have a financial freedom to go after plan a with no struggle. I’ve been a comedian for a 3 to 4 years now ever since I graduated college, I would definitely say that it is giving me personal fulfillment and as a comic I consider myself a storyteller. I’m pretty much all around the Twin Cities. I’ve headlined all around Minnesota Saint Paul, Minneapolis you name it anywhere if they have a comedy show I’ve had my name there and I’m proud to say that
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Discipline work ethnic, goals. Those are the three things. That have gotten me the farthest in my life. I learn these things from the men that were a positive influence on my life. They taught me that discipline and work. It can really get you to your goals at any point, they told me that as a man, I had a responsibility to those that I loved, but also to myself and that without discipline a work ethic goals become just dreams, unattainable unreachable and possibly your fault. Definitely is your fault if you don’t go for your goals and if you’re going for your goals in your dreams, there’s no point in giving 50%. You should have a discipline of work ethic to give 100%. Any advice I have to anyone on any goal they have but literally be just doing it if you’re working a 9 to 5 you need to spend at least four hours going towards your goal after work for yourself to give your personal life meaning if that’s what you’re lacking and I don’t know a lot of people who have made it anywhere just dreaming or watching other people go after their goals. There comes a point in everybody’s life. They need to decide whether to do it or not do it and I’m telling you just do it! It feels much better on the other side. No maybe. you know you’re getting to your goal. One step at a time one day at a time there’s no reason why the people around you can say they’re living their dreams and you’re not everybody is equal. You deserve the life that you dream of so just go for it.
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
Allowed me to see them work hard, allow me to see them struggle. Allow me to see them think about what their next move is. Let me know that the things that I think in my head are the question that I go through. Everyone goes through even the people that I look up to, so I don’t feel less than I feel equal to and I feel ready to go after whatever it is I’m chasing Because I saw my parents do it.
