We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Maid Rosé a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Maid Rosé , so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
Cherrybomb Maid Café is a project, fueled by passion and hope! If we weren’t optimistic starting up wouldn’t be possible! Our goal is to eventually have a secured location for our Café one day. Having such a big goal requires a certain level of optimism!
Our optimism also comes from knowing that it’s okay to learn as we go, and from providing a fun experience for all of our guests that visit our pop-ups!
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Cherrybomb Maid Café is a project and group effort aspiring to bring a maid café and the experience of a maid café to Oregon! Maid Cafés provide a unique experience for people interested in anything cute, nerdy, and fun! It’s a break from reality as our cast of maids all have different personas, or maidsonas, for interacting with all the guests that come and visit us at our pop-up events! It’s a performative experience! Guests are greeted as they enter and seated by our maids, to play games, watch performances and enjoy snacks! Cherrybomb Maid Café thrives on guest interaction and making sure that everyone has a good time!
We are still a small pop-up café, and getting started can be a challenge at times but we believe with the effort, and the energy, and enthusiasm, we will be able to create something amazing! We’re so excited to share the maid café experience with everyone who visits us!
We’re greatly inspired by Maid Cafés in Japan, as well as other pop-up Maid Cafés our members have visited!
We have plenty of events lined up for this year 2025 across Oregon! Our goal this year is to become better established now that we’ve figured out the image we want to put out for our brand!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
One of the most important skills or quality of starting up this maid café journey was forming the right group. Finding the right people, who are okay with being a bit out of their comfort zone and a bit out of the norm was extremely important for a concept so extravagant!
Another thing was having the leadership skills. Taking on this kind of project so abruptly was a challenge at first, I’ve had to learn the best way to navigate things as I go through experience. Our maids interact with guests as well as each other, so it’s important to make sure that any internal issues with anyone on our team are solved before our events so we can give everyone a truly good time!
It’s okay to be silly! It’s perfectly fine to let yourself have fun! Fully get developed in your character, people coming to see a maid café aren’t there to see something ordinary, it’s about creating magic for all ages!
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Cherrybomb Maid Café is always willing to collaborate with Conventions, Tea Houses, Restaurants, etc. We’re also super happy to collaborate with other Pop-Up Maid Cafés, we love to support others who have the same goals and passions as we do!
Cherrybomb Maid Café is also regularly scouting for Stand-In Maids for events we may not have enough people for! Our application and interview process is simple and when we’re looking it’s most likely to be posted to our Instagram – CherrybombMaidcafe
