Meet Malachi Williams

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Malachi Williams. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Malachi , thanks for taking the time to share your lessons with our community today. So, let’s jump right in – one of the most essential skills for unlocking our potential is self-discipline. Where does your self-discipline come from?

Most of my self discipline came from my mom. Being raised in a single parent household showed me how tuff it can be but even more it showed me how strong my mom is and how much work she had to put in, in order to take care of us both. I got even more discipline when I enlisted in the Navy. Self discipline is what becoming a sailor is all about and it wasn’t anything new to me since I’ve also been playing sports all my life which also take amounts or discipline to play

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

When I was 19 years old I enlisted in the US Navy reserve. On June 15th, 2023 I left for bootcamp and after a long 5 months I finished all of my training and I returned home. From there I got a job at Knotts Berry Farm as a ride operator and since then I’ve been working at Knotts part time and I work my drill weekends at my base once a month for the Navy. In the Navy my job is a AE( Aviation Electricians Mate) so after basic training I went to Aviation school in order to learn my job. This year 2025 I am making plans to go full active duty in the Navy.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Three skills that I’ve learned over the years is how to communicate with people, how to stop bad habits, and how to stop comparing yourself to others. Throughout my life I’ve struggled with all of these but after becoming an adult I’ve taken the steps to face my problems and fix them while learning new skills.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

The book that has helped me the most in my quest for knowledge is “The 48 Laws Of Power” by Robert Greene. Reading this book has opened my eyes on how to read others body language and has taught me how to know when someone is trying to get over on me.
