Meet Mandy Kimlick

We recently connected with Mandy Kimlick and have shared our conversation below.

Mandy, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My parents both have strong work ethics, so it was modeled from a really early age. I was really into horses as a kid (still am as an adult!), but they told me I could ride and have a horse, if I could take care of him. So from then on- it was game on and I was babysitting, teaching horseback riding lessons, mucking stalls, house sitting, etc as a pre-teen. And I’ve been able to hustle ever since.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My role as a music manager is always changing as my artists careers advance. I currently just signed my artist to a booking agency, so now instead of reaching out to venues, my role will shift and I’ll start more tour managing and looking for sponsorship deals. And now that I’ll have a slightly different role and more free time, I am working on some of my own art projects!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Resiliency: I cannot stress this enough. There will always be highs and lows in any field. Riding out those waves in the low areas, comes naturally for some, but is skill that can be strengthened and practiced.

Positivity: The lens you view the world in, effects what world you live in. It is especially helpful during the lows. Pluse, it makes you more fun to be around and this in turn attracts good people and good opportunities.

Cutting ties: Not every person is worthy of your circle. Not every idea is worthy of energy. Knowing when to stop and go a different direction isn’t always easy for the ego, but can been worth hit.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Always! Especially positive people who are amazing at what they do. Currently I’m moving into the sponsorship world- so if you have a business or product that could work well with an musician- lets chat! Immersive spaces and experiences are of really high interest to me! People are craving multi-sensory interaction and I think there are so many cool creative ways to partner together in 2024.
