Meet Manisha Mehta

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Manisha Mehta. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Manisha, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

Being a Qualified Nutritionist, one thing I realised is that our conventional education doesn’t teach us how to monetize our knowledge infact it gets to a point that my profession is labelled a noble profession to the point that talking about money and earning a lot of money is a tabboo.

However the downside of it is that a lo of qualfiied nutritionists feel inadequate to openly talk about their knowledge and people who are not even qualified (hence not a part of the conventional education) go ahead with confidence and spread wrong information (As it is rightly said, Real Imposters never have imposter syndrome)

As a result naive people believe these health myths & suffer.

So as a Qualified Nutritionists it’s just a need for my business but also my moral duty to show up for the health of bigger population.

Yes If I am underconfident about a certain topic, I would always be willing to learn more but letting the imposter syndrome succumb me is not an option if I truly want to fulfill my professional duty.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Hi, I’m Manisha Mehta, A Clinical & Sports Dietitian I help foodies experience their maximum energy levels, while achieving their health goals without going on strict diets.

Coming from an Indian Punjabi family, I had been a foodie since birth! Back in 2007, I fell in love with studying food and its relationship with the human body during my BSc. Food Technology from Delhi University.

Despite Pivoting in my career from a Food technologist to a Packaging Technologist, I came back to study for MSc. Dietetics for my second post-graduation because I missed knowing the depths of science the human body encapsulates.

Once I started practicing as a Nutritionist in 2012, I observed a lot of people going on unrealistic habits which were hard to maintain to reach a “Target Weight”, this concept was alien to me because since childhood I had grown up in a household where exercising and healthy eating was effortless, something that we just did without even thinking about it (my father used to workout in an akhaada (Indian Conventional Gym) for as long as I can remember & me along with my 3 siblings were made to exercise since a very early age) and with strength training came huge appetite, so cutting calories was never even a thought. and I just LIVED LIKE THAT, with all the strength and energy

Till Date it almost physically hurts me to see people labeling foods as good or bad under the influence of “Internet knowledge” which also hampers there quality of life.
That’s why I am passionate to make sure that anybody in the world who can afford food doesn’t go to bed empty stomach under the influence of starvation diets. In My Program Ditch the Diet I help people fix their relationship with food so that they can enjoy fitness without depriving themselves.

Because of my immense interest in Biochemistry & Endochrinology I also love talking about hormonal health & In my signature program called SHESync help women get in sync with their natural menstrual cycle & unlock unbound energy, productivity & health.

I do understand that my bigger mission to eradicate self imposed hunger needs more hands that’s why In my NutriBoss Academy I teach budding dietitians about the business fundamentals so that they bridge the gap between conventional educations & skills to monetise their knowledge which will allow them to stand tall while spreading the right information in the sea of social media health myths.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The very first quality that helped me grow was my willingness to learn deeply & apply quickly. This applied to everything, my interest in Biochemistry , content creations, business operations & launching new programs for my clients.

Second skill that helped me immensely was to listen to my intuition. This helped me be with the right people, cut off wrong people at the right time & pouring my heart and soul into project i felt passionate about. I feel this came to me because I was fortunate enough to learn meditation at a young age.

The third most important skill I have learnt over the years is work with dynamism on the outer front of my business yet bringing an element of peace during my client counselling sessions.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I have a well structured one of its kind corporate wellness program which integrates not only health care of corporate employees but also improves productivity by taking physical & mental wellness in conjugation.

I am looking corporate collaborations to help take this program to a bigger experiential level.
