Meet Manne Von M

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Manne Von M. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Manne, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I searched for a long time, yet I found what had been by my side all along—music. I have been creating music since I was 13. I believe that purpose, message, worldview, and intellectual wealth converge at a single point. My message, perhaps, is that a person should never lose the ability to believe, no matter what happens. Music gives us the chance to think that way. Of course, the same music can also prove the opposite, but as creators, we choose the message we send to the world, because we are responsible for the audience’s emotions, thoughts, and decisions.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

As a film director by profession, I was able to gain a certain maturity through this field and create several films that brought me success. Yet, one day, I found myself at a concert by pianist Evgeny Kissin. Sitting there in the hall, I felt my life split into two parts—before that day, and after that moment. I realized that music gave me wings, and from the very next day, I returned to it. I began playing Mozart’s Fantasias, followed by several other works. At that time, I could hardly believe it was possible to come back to music, especially classical music.

When I decided to write again, this time I fully devoted myself to composition and dared to learn everything from new page. The same international awards soon came to me as a composer, and with even greater inspiration, I believed in the existence of destiny. Now I understand that creating classical music is my true mission.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Faith

Rhythm

Will to Win

For example, I am currently working on a large-scale piece called ”The Elements”, my musical mosaic based on the periodic table of elements. It is innovative in its concept and encompasses all 118 elements. I am the first to create such a work, and I believe that the three points I mentioned earlier—faith, rhythm, and will to win—also helped me reach this original idea.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

Just like in music, in any pursuit, one must know how to take a break. This pause should be temporary and meaningful. If a person feels overwhelmed, they need to give their mind some freedom. Sometimes, watching a failed or silly comedy can be more necessary than endlessly listening to heavy, intellectual music. Everything must be in balance, and you should allow yourself to be touched by human, simple emotions. Continuous work—or feeling overwhelmed by any aspect of life—can only be remedied by changing your perspective and point of view. Reality can transform in just a few moments.
