We were lucky to catch up with Manu Shahi recently and have shared our conversation below.
Manu , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I believe that, as an immigrant, and due to the way I was raised, failure is an event, not a reflection of a person. I inherited this mindset from my mother and the fact that there is always room for learning and recovery, enabling us to move forward to the next step.
My parents, my mother, in particular, had amazing time management skills and a strong sense of critical thinking in life. My father excelled in material management. As a child, I watched them work with these qualities, and it greatly influenced my work ethic. Parents need to be mindful of how they behave in front of their children since they are the most significant role models.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I feel super excited to contribute to a time that I will not be here to watch, by developing skills and habits in the current generation. Embarking on fun skills, which is a lifelong journey, and seeing how these students will apply these habits in the future is what excites me.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Love for learning: Love for learning is like entering an arena as vast as your mind, unlearning what you have learned, and absorbing new information.
Perseverance: This is key; it’s about finding solutions to problems and adapting the product to meet the evolving needs of the market.
Take time: It involves taking the time to carefully consider the entire process, including the end-users of the product, the staff, and the customers.
My greatest advice: find a mentor and a sponsor in your journey – a mentor will guide you, A sponsor will introduce you to the right people at the right time
Networking is really important, be authentic, make connections with people,, and that will help people connect with you.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I would love to collaborate with educators who are open-minded and seeking resources to help their students develop executive function skills, study habits, and boost academic confidence. We are particularly interested in supporting children with neurodiversity. Additionally, we’re eager to connect with parents who are facing challenges in helping their children develop these essential skills at home.
