Meet Mara Palermo

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Mara Palermo a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Mara, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

Even in my younger years, I knew my purpose was transformation. I found it first in my salon business. I was so young, but I loved the creativity and pushing the envelope with unique hairstyles and colors. Watching someone light up in my chair after a transformation was incredibly fulfilling, knowing I was impacting how they felt about themselves.

That passion for transformation naturally led me into coaching. I realized that the deeper, more meaningful transformations I wanted to create were not just physical—they were emotional and relational. Helping people transform from the inside out became my new focus, and that’s when I found my true purpose in relationship coaching.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m Mara, a relationship coach and attachment specialist. My work is all about helping people break free from the patterns that hold them back in relationships, whether they’re single or currently in a relationship. What I do is help people raise their self worth, heal their emotional wounds, and reprogram their subconscious so they can build secure, happy, and lasting relationships.

What’s exciting about my work is watching the transformation unfold in my clients. People often come to me feeling stuck—repeating the same relationship patterns, feeling anxious or unworthy of love—and it’s amazing to see how they grow when they learn how to regulate their emotions, set boundaries, and build real, deep connections with themselves and others.

One thing that sets my work apart is that we don’t just focus on surface-level fixes. We get to the root of what’s holding people back—whether it’s unresolved attachment wounds or limiting beliefs they’ve carried for years. When they do the deeper work, they don’t just change their relationships—they change their lives.

I’m also excited to expand my offerings with new programs and one-on-one intensives. My signature program, the Unshakeable Love Method, is designed to guide people through a step-by-step process to heal their attachment issues and create secure, fulfilling relationships. We’re also launching new workshops focused on emotional regulation and communication, which are key elements in creating a healthy relationship foundation.

For those looking to take their healing to the next level, we’re offering Attachment Assessment Calls where we dive into each person’s unique attachment style and create a personalized roadmap to help them break free from their old patterns and step into secure, confident love. It’s an exciting time, and I’m so proud of the impact these programs are having on people’s lives.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, there are three key qualities and skills that were most impactful in my journey:

1. Emotional Awareness – Understanding my own emotions and learning how to regulate them was essential. Before I could help others, I had to develop self-awareness around how my emotions were influencing my behaviors and relationships. Emotional regulation is a skill I believe everyone should develop early on, and it starts with paying attention to how you feel and responding consciously, rather than reacting on impulse. My advice is to regularly reflect on your emotional triggers and practice mindfulness to create more emotional balance in your life.
2. Empathy – Being able to truly empathize with others is critical in my work as a coach. It allows me to connect with clients on a deeper level and understand their unique experiences without judgment. For anyone just starting out, I would say, focus on listening more than you speak, and try to put yourself in others’ shoes. It’s a skill that develops over time but is invaluable in both personal and professional relationships.
3. Resilience – The path to success isn’t always smooth. I faced a lot of challenges and setbacks, both personally and professionally. What got me through was resilience—the ability to keep going, even when things didn’t go as planned. If you’re early in your journey, know that obstacles are a part of growth. The best way to develop resilience is to embrace those challenges, learn from them, and remind yourself that every setback is a stepping stone toward your ultimate goal.

My advice to those just starting out is to invest in yourself, whether that’s through personal development, mentorship, or simply learning from every experience. These skills and qualities don’t develop overnight, but with consistent effort and reflection, they will help you grow and thrive in whatever path you choose.

How would you describe your ideal client?

A key characteristic of my ideal client is a deep desire for growth. They’re not just looking for quick fixes or surface-level advice; they’re ready to do the deeper work. Whether they’re single or in a relationship, they understand that the real change starts with themselves, and they’re committed to investing the time and effort to make that happen.

They’re also open-minded and coachable. I work best with individuals who are ready to be guided, to implement new strategies, and to challenge their old ways of thinking. When someone shows up with that willingness and commitment, the results can be incredible.

Ultimately, my ideal client is someone who wants to create secure, fulfilling relationships not only with a partner but also with themselves—and they’re ready to take the leap to make that happen.
