Meet Marat Omarov

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Marat Omarov. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Marat, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.

I’ve heard many people call me “one of the most optimistic people they know,” and sometimes it can irritate others, as they see it as being foolish.
The truth is — our beliefs shape our reality.
For me, my belief is that things will simply work out, in some great way.
The Universe (or God, if you prefer) has your back. This doesn’t mean that everything will work out exactly the way you want, but things will work out to help you bring your unique universal gift into fruition, to a certain extent. The size of that extent depends entirely on you.
And one day all this (life) will end for you. So it will be over, this way or another, sooner or later. So what’s the point of being a pessimist?

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m the founder of The ARK, a contemporary regenerative village in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica.
We are on a mission to redefine modern living by creating a truly regenerative way of life—not only through our relationship with nature but also by establishing an equitable living system where residents are rewarded for being part of the project. Essentially, we’re creating a living model where your home pays you back, rather than being a liability.

During the pandemic, I envisioned a way of living that would be completely autonomous, free, and exciting—designed for a new era where people no longer need to live where they work.
That’s how The ARK was born, and we’re now rapidly becoming a blueprint for new and existing communities by developing a truly balanced system where communities prioritize their residents over investors.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Resilience – showing up, in good and bad days, but do the work every day
Courage – cowards and heroes are afraid the same, second act against their fear
Faith – just believe that it will work out. If you don’t believe in yourself, who else will?

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

We do.
First and foremost, we welcome people who want to change their lifestyle and join us as residents—not necessarily full-time, but perhaps for 3-4 months a year, if the idea to change your life sounds as too much at first. It’s an opportunity to step into their healthiest selves and embrace the lifestyle of The ARK, rooted in co-creation, shared prosperity and constant growth and joy.
