Meet Marc Leonard Johnson

We were lucky to catch up with Marc Leonard Johnson recently and have shared our conversation below.

Marc Leonard , thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?

I believe overcoming early heart surgery is what instilled resilience and optimism in me. Coupled with my Mom’s unwavering support, played a big role in shaping my positive outlook.

why I’m passionate about the e-bike industry—its why I’m so fervent about it.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’ve always believed that optimism is a powerful force, and this mindset was shaped by my earliest challenges. Born with a heart condition that required open-heart surgery as a child, I learned early on the value of resilience and positivity. These experiences instilled in me a passion for overcoming obstacles and creating opportunities, which ultimately fueled my journey as an entrepreneur.

My love for locomotion has always been a constant in my life—whether it’s the intricate workings of trains or the freedom found in bikes, the art of movement has inspired me to build something meaningful. Today, I channel that passion into the world of e-mobility.

I’m the founder of a thriving e-bike repair company, AAA E-Bike Repair, where we pride ourselves on keeping riders on the move. Beyond repairs, I’ve launched eBikeSkool, an educational initiative dedicated to teaching children and teenagers about e-bike safety, maintenance, and responsible riding. Through this program, I aim to foster a culture of safe and sustainable e-mobility.

E-mobility is more than a career for me—it’s a fervent passion. I’m dedicated to innovating and advocating for sustainable transportation solutions that bring people closer to their communities while reducing our environmental footprint. Whether through hands-on repair services or educating the next generation, I’m committed to making e-mobility accessible, safe, and exciting for everyone.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, three qualities stand out as pivotal in my journey: resilience, adaptability, and a hunger for learning.

1. Resilience: Life has thrown its fair share of challenges my way, from childhood health struggles to the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. Resilience allowed me to see setbacks not as failures but as opportunities to grow and adapt. My advice to others is to embrace challenges with optimism—every obstacle is a stepping stone if you approach it with determination and a positive outlook.

2. Adaptability: Whether it’s navigating changing markets in e-mobility or adjusting to unexpected life events, being flexible and open to change is essential. For those starting their journey, I’d recommend stepping outside of your comfort zone regularly. It’s in those moments of uncertainty that you discover new possibilities and develop the ability to pivot when needed.

3. A Hunger for Learning: My passion for locomotion and e-mobility has fueled a constant desire to expand my knowledge, whether through hands-on experience or studying industry trends. For others, my advice is to stay curious. Seek out mentors, ask questions, and never stop educating yourself about the things that excite you.

Developing these qualities has shaped my career and personal growth, and I believe they’re invaluable for anyone looking to create meaningful impact in their journey.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

Two books that have profoundly influenced my journey are The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life by Alice Schroeder and The Art of Memory by Frances Yates.

The Snowball offers a compelling look into Warren Buffett’s life and his philosophy of compounding value over time. This concept deeply resonated with me—not just in financial terms but in the way I approach building my businesses and relationships. It’s a reminder that small, deliberate actions taken consistently can lead to monumental success. This perspective has been invaluable in my entrepreneurial journey, particularly in the e-mobility space.

The Art of Memory, on the other hand, opened my eyes to the incredible potential of the human mind. It explores the ancient techniques of memory and how they’ve shaped human thought and creativity throughout history. For me, it was an inspiration to approach challenges with a strategic mindset and to see the act of learning as an art form. It’s also influenced how I teach in my eBikeSkool program, emphasizing creative ways to retain knowledge and apply it effectively.

Both books, in their own ways, highlight the power of focus, discipline, and intentional growth. They’ve shaped how I think, work, and teach, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking to deepen their understanding of success and the human potential.
