Meet Marcedes Carroll

We recently connected with Marcedes Carroll and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Marcedes with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

I’d say I get my work ethic from my Mother. She has always been a doer & therefore I have followed in her footsteps. We are not ones to sit for very long!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

In my endeavors, I have tried to wear a lot of different hats & keep multiple sides of my artistry going. For example, I have & run my own business when it comes to my music. I do the booking, the pr & management however, I find time to contribute to building my creative side, as well as performance & craft. Writing is a muscle, performance is a muscle & my instrumental skill sets are a muscle; they all need attention & I try to find a balance for everything.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I’d say some of the best advice is to get out there & do it. If you don’t make any moves, you will never get to where you desire. Of course you will fail at times, you will just have to pick yourself up & keep going. The journey isn’t over until you quit completely or don’t start at all; so get started & never stop!

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

My peers & colleagues! Having a community of like minded folks doing the same thing gave me a space to bounce ideas off of; what worked & what didn’t.
