Meet Marci Estiverne

We recently connected with Marci Estiverne and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Marci, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

I have come to develop confidence and self-esteem from a combination of my cultural pride as a Haitian, personal achievements, familial and community support and resilience built over time. My confidence and self-esteem has come from engaging with positive representations, learning from role models, and building a network of support. Some practices that I have instituted in my everyday life such as setting personal boundaries, celebrating my unique strengths, and engaging in activities that reinforce identity and self-worth has come to contribute to my strong self-esteem.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

My name is Marci and my obsession with makeup really evolved when I was in college. I am an advocate of women owning their beauty in the best way that she sees fit. To the millennial woman who is juggling many hats whether that be through working, creating or raising a family then you should do all that your heart desires with access to beautiful and bold shadows and lippies.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The three qualities, skills and areas of knowledge that were most impactful in my journey as an entrepreneur are resilience and adaptability because building a business is rarely a smooth journey, and resilience is crucial to keep moving forward through setbacks, failures, and rejections. Adaptability is equally important, as it allows entrepreneurs to pivot quickly in response to market changes, customer feedback, or unexpected obstacles. , deep understanding of my customer base because knowing the target market inside and out helps in crafting a product or service that truly addresses real customer points and consistency because a consistent brand message, tone, and visual identity creates a memorable impression. When customers recognize and understand your brand values, they’re more likely to feel connected to it, fostering loyalty and helping your brand stand out in a crowded market.
The best advice I can offer for those early on in their journey is have a vision and set goals and stick to them. If you’re passionate about your business then you will nurture it to success.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

The number one obstacle or challenge I am currently facing is finding the right balance between growth and sustainability. This challenge shows up in various forms, like cash flow management, product-market fit, marketing and scaling. In order to resolve this issue I am working on marketing my products to increase brand awareness. This means being consistent in posting on social media and investing in more marketing of my brand.
