Meet Marcus Moore

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Marcus Moore. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Marcus, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.

My optimism comes from the things I’ve overcome and achieved in life. I learned at an early age that life is better when you keep a positive outlook on life as perception is key. Focusing on the negatives in the world will only drag your energy into the same pit of darkness this world and some people bring to it. Whereas focusing on the light and positives of this world bring levity, and a good energy to the soul. One of the greatest lessons I learned that really help me stay optimistic is knowing that no matter what you do in life you can NOT control others, nor things around you. You can control you, your energy, and how you move forward accordingly.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My name is Marcus Moore aka BluBoiArt. I am an independent artist, and I LOVE to draw. I am just a passionate artist who loves and enjoys creating and illustrating my ideas, fandom, or the love/nostalgia of others.

Ever since I was a kid and I watched the pilot X-Men cartoon “PRIDE OF THE X-MEN” I have been captivated by the world of heroes, villains and the supernatural. The feats these characters accomplish, their stories and lore keep me eternally excited about the genre of comics, anime and video games.

I am student of Illustration, and I understand that there are endless ways to bring an idea to life. Every time I begin a piece my journey begins to better myself as an artist even further, so I just can’t stop.

A picture says a million words, especially when it taps into one’s nostalgia which speaks to one’s soul. If you are looking for a comic book/anime style for your comic, book, or you would like a custom piece for you or a loved one. I can make it happen.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Three of the most important qualities I believe every artist should know huh?
The first would be understanding composition and anatomy. As an artist we must understand how and where to place objects in a piece to make them visually interesting and dynamic. Learning anatomy just makes it easier draw characters in the poses you feel create the best moment.
Market yourself as best you can. Contact people and companies who can help spread the word for your art. NEVER be afraid of the word “NO”. Because out of the sea of “No’s” there are people who have been waiting for you and need your art.
My final piece of advice is to keep an open mind. Stay ready to learn as the world of art is ever changing and ever evolving. you can never learn enough and ALWAYS improve on what makes you great.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

Support. It is an amazing feeling knowing that your parent support and believe in you and what you do. Whether its words of affirmation, reminding you why you do what you do, liking/loving the art you post, spreading the word of your endeavors, etc. It has impacted me in a great way, and I love them for that and SO much more.
