Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Maren Pérez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Maren , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic in sewing comes from my professional training. Although my current work is not directly related to my degree in Business Administration, it has greatly influenced the way I approach my job.
The core values that shape my professional ethic — which I consider more a way of life — are:
Responsibility: I always make sure to meet appointments and delivery deadlines.
Humility: I’m always open to learning from others when I don’t master a certain technique or skill, and I also enjoy sharing my knowledge with those who need it. I believe feedback is essential because it helps the whole team improve.
Professionalism: This is what defines me most. No matter how small a project is, I always make sure to do it right. There’s no difference for me between hemming and a dress project; the quality of what I deliver will always be the best.
Dedication: I give my full effort to every project and only consider it complete when the client is fully satisfied.
My work ethic has helped me build long-term relationships with clients and earn their trust and recommendations.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’ve had a long journey in the world of sewing, starting with custom-made garments such as bikinis, evening dresses, and pieces made from recycled fabrics—mostly denim. Today, I’m focused on bridal gowns, offering all kinds of alterations as well as full creation, from design and pattern-making to final tailoring.
I’m passionate about creating something meaningful for women on such a special day — a day they’ll remember for the rest of their lives. I strive to meet each client’s expectations and put my best effort into bringing their dream dress to life. My process focuses on understanding their vision while offering guidance and recommendations so we can achieve the perfect design together.
I also find great joy in renewing or transforming old dresses that once belonged to mothers or grandmothers, giving them a new life. I truly love rescuing vintage garments and making them shine again.
I consider myself a blend of the new and the old, of sexy and elegant — without losing the classic touch. That’s my personal signature.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Creativity
Perfectionism
Innate ability
My advice is to believe in yourself. If you feel that you’re good at something, make the most of your skills. If you work on something you love and you’re good at it, your job will never feel boring — and if you can make money doing what you love, even better.

How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is someone who wants to wear something unique — a custom-made piece — and isn’t afraid to invest in it. Someone who appreciates the dedication and craftsmanship behind handmade work, who has ideas in mind and allows me to help bring those ideas to life.
